Would you expect discounting before 2023?+1000. The 2 dealers in Nevada that I contacted in Reno and Carson told me they're selling at MSRP. While that is a good starting point, I'd love to find a dealer that can charge below msrp. I heard stories of some dealers doing invoice-3% on the bronco. Would be nice to get some kind of discount.
If I can't get that, I'd rather just be able to buy online and pick up at the local dealer if that's possible/confirmed.
Ford is building as many Broncos as there are customers to sign on the finance paperwork … but they're not building many Lightnings … I think I read 80,000 … that's about one month of demand … with 125,000+ reservations, I expect Ford will ramp up production once they see how many of those $100 "why not?" reservations translate into sales … I imagine there's also some logistical "risk mitigation" of not wanting to roll out too many first production run vehicles in case there are significant recalls. Like Tesla, there will be quarter-end promotions and discounts once the initial demand is satisfied, but that's probably 2023. There must be a lot of overlap in reservations between GMC Hummer EV, Ford Lightning, Tesla Cybertruck and maybe Rivian R1T or R1S … I assume most of those buyers will choose whatever reaches market first and the manufacturers will sort of "scratch off" one sale for every sale of a competing vehicle.
