So I leveled my 24 on Rough Country’s 3” level with the new UCAs.

I went with the Lariat wheels and added Toyo AT3 EV tires (275/65/R20).

The issue I have is the truck rides really rough now. I understand exactly why, but wanted to check if anyone has had any luck with a good level on Fox or bilstein shocks?

Right now everything rattles and it’s driving me crazy. 🤪

3”seems pretty aggressive for a smaller tire.

Id try a 2” level and see how that rides. I wouldn’t do a 3” unless you did 35’s

2" level would probably look better, IMO. However, that would not fix the rattling issue or harsh ride. I think better shocks would soften it. As far as rattling goes, due to the change in geometry, something is maybe touching around the coilovers or UCA's. Or could be as simple as a loose item inside the cab glove box, under rear seats, door pockets etc.

Agree with you both. I was thinking of 2", but like you said, it's not going to fix the rough ride. That's why I'm interested to understand if someone has had any luck with Fox of Bilstein? I saw the Ebach kit, but was concerned about the quality.

it very well might. An extra inch of play might be all you need. I would think anything above 2” you need specially fitted shocks for a 3” IMO. Also the casters Come into play. What psi and what rating are your AT3’s?

Generally speaking Eibach and moreover Fox are much better quality than Rough Country. I had RC coilovers on my RAM 1500 for over 60k with no issues. I find Eibach to be on par with Bilstein. Fox suspension is expected to be top quality and much more expensive. One thing if I were to upgrade front suspension, I would not install OEM springs with upgraded shocks. Some people do that.

I’ve heard great things about the eibach kit. Maybe try that.

A lower height will have a better ride and Shocks will have a better ride than spacers.

I'm a huge fan of Bilsteins, especially if you want to get rid of the floatyness in the front suspension.

I just did the 2” RC level kit in front, kept stock in back with same 18” rims and tires.

Rides the same.

Sorry to hear yours is riding rough now, maybe the aggressive tire?

Thought of going with 33’s with new bronze rim but now might think it over.

Let us know if you figure how to smooth it out.

Thanks

I have the Eibach shocks with stock springs. 2" RC leveling puck. They stiffened the ride which I wanted to get rid of the super soft ride the OEM delivered. So you would probably be in the same position with any brand of upgraded shocks. I have the same tires as you, LT/E rated and I think playing with the PSI might be what you need to do. When they installed them, they did them to the sticker/stock PSI and they were super soft and looked deflated. I'm during a lot of highway driving RN so I have them up to 60psi (80psi is max) which does create a lot of bouncing/rattling/etc in the truck but helps the mi/kwh on the highway. 45-50 softens it up a bit. I go down to 30 on dirt. The truck does a lot of rattling even at low speed, especially the sunroof, drives me crazy too, but usually conversation or music helps drown it out.

OEM is generally not that great of a quality. Also, it requires taking apart the coilovers to replace the shock. Why not use better performance springs at the same time. No extra labor, but a good improvement.
Sort of like, when a timing belt is replaced on an ICE vehicle, people replace the water pump as well. The maybe nothing wrong with it but just a convenient time to do so.
