What are you talking about? They already confirmed they're working on opening up more capacity via an OTA for the Mach-E, I don't see why they couldn't do that with the Lightning as well.
I don't know how it is in every state, but at least in a few (including mine) EV registration costs upwards of a few hundred bucks more to help pay for those road taxes.
Unfortunately with 160k+ reservations and potentially only ~20k being made next year for the entire country, I think this will be way more common than people think which is why I've started thinking about alternative options.
Not having my own vehicle hasn't been too bad for the last few months...
Ohio here: That's absolutely correct. We have absolutely zero state rebates available and the main power conglomerate in northeast Ohio (First Energy/Ohio Edison) doesn't even offer any charger or EV rebates, either. Yet many Ford dealers had to pay people to hold on to their delivered custom...
No seriously, they clearly aren't doing proper (or any?) market research on these products. I hope they figure it out at some point because that will make for a terrible reputation if you keep severely underestimating demand constantly.
You can bet your ass they're lobbying hard for it. They're going to blow through the remaining 200,000 soon just with the Lightning and Mach-E alone. If they launch the Escape/Explorer/Whatever next year then they'll be in trouble for 2023.
The only pricing information we saw was the survey, which obviously should not be taken as final numbers. There's nothing official mentioned about pricing other than for Pro and XLT on the reservation page.
Us working stiffs already pay for a lot of corporate bailouts and subsidize the ultra-wealthy since they pay little to nothing in taxes.
The least we can do is get an EV tax credit out of it.
