  1. 12 volt or bigger issue? Funky chicken no start

l suspect both counts of this, we likely put more cycles in 3 months then most in year and yes it sat for 12 months on lot before we bought it ($20k off msrp) dealer almost paid us to take it. On this truck I asked when we picked it up and was told 2 recalls had already been done (have not...
  2. 12 volt or bigger issue? Funky chicken no start

Okay this leads me to battery itself is a dud? This truck sees multiple 200+ mile runs a week and lives on a level 2 charger - no logical reason the 12v isnt being kept topped up by the truck itself. The hassles/cost of it dieing somewhere are way more then preventatively replacing battery...
  3. 12 volt or bigger issue? Funky chicken no start

Thanks half way down that rabbit hole and couldnt find anything - though apparently the truck is in "Excellent state of health" according to Ford. What's the actual charging process for 12v? If I stick a tender in frunk plugged in and flip propower on while driving as a regular background...
  4. 12 volt or bigger issue? Funky chicken no start

Interesting, the truck was having connectivity issues earlier in day with Ford Pass App where it couldnt connect to truck. I use PAAK.
  5. Using the truck bed 240v outlet to power an RV

No issues if you use the 240/30 amp your trailer is only pulling one side with the 120/30 amp - use any generic store dog bone. Just realize it’s a “hard” stop at 30 amps - if you have AC without a soft start it will pull 40+ amps at startup - this instantly trips the Lightning. Conventional...
  6. 12 volt or bigger issue? Funky chicken no start

Went to start our 23 Lariat and truck started sending error codes: Stop truck now Frunk error Passenger door open Etc Only into accessory mode, would not start. Cycled it twice, tried to open frunk (wouldn’t), same errors. However on the tablet/screen it said “Screen powered down to protect...
  7. Will a Lightning work for me (towing + frequent offroad use)?

Quite a few good points have popped up in this thread. Air dam / intake - I too am somewhat concerned on this, Florida it'll be bugs and debris, up north here I'm worried about ice and gravel/sand. I just don't see those plastic fins lasting - freeze up and burn out motor etc. Tail gate - it's...
  8. Will a Lightning work for me (towing + frequent offroad use)?

As a farm truck it "will" work fine - however related to the bale question the tailgate (particularly the Lariat) - looks like a $5k repair bill waiting to happen. My Lariat currently has 4 baler belts and oil for tractors in the back, skid tank and parts are in the back of F250 diesel (also...
  9. 12 Inch Versus 15 Inch Screen

we have two xlts with 12" and a lariat with the 15". Hands down the 12" wins with physical buttons. I think Ford made a major blunder with the Flash/XLT ER coming with 15" - KISS for work trucks. The 15" has flaked out on me which luckily a hard reset fixed - the 12" no issues as really its...
  10. Wind Noise

our Lariat has the same drivers door gap as your picture and had similar noise issues at purchase which I think was dry door seal issues - truck sat on lot for 9+ months with only 50 miles on it - its improved since. Would I still like the door gap fixed - yep - just not been a priority since...
  11. 23 Lariat Central Screen does not power down

Have a 23 Lariat the central display won’t shutdown (you can interact with it with truck off) - radio is on and no. Responsive to dials (and on loud….) Anyone know how to hard reset or other solve? Cycling truck on/off, locking, etc has no impact to screen it just stays on.
  12. Maintenance Questions

Just took two of ours into dealer for “recommended” service and one had developed a shimmy - service manager called and asked what I wanted done - said what do they need - said guess they could top up windshield fluid. Note - the shimmy was mud dried inside rim, after paying a bit more...
  13. Does the Lightning Still Stack Up Well vs. Other EV Trucks?

The Lightnings is still the standard for EV pickup until the Silverado passes its year of "premium trims only" - then if they can put out a WT version at same price point as a Pro with 200 kw battery Ford needs to adapt - que v2 Lightning with 800v and 200 kw battery. The Ram may sneak in...
  14. Fordpass has stop receiving from the truck

Truck is updating FordPass now, and shows as just received the 24.2.4.9 update - which bullet 2 impacts receive/transmit. Likely something in that update/reset/reload process.
  15. Fordpass has stop receiving from the truck

Having same issue started last night, in Cda with a 23 Lariat - we have two xlt's they are fine (all visible in same FordPass). Truck shows no connectivity so the AT&T makes sense.
  16. Tow to charge?

If you’re going to tow it to charge may as well plug it in with 120 to cab outlet (or 240v if other truck has pro power equivalent). I’d be curious what the efficiency is of a eco boost 150 using its pro-power to charge a Lightning if it’s stranded.
  17. 400watt limit on Frunk

That I could, however the frunk makes sense it’s dry, secure, and clean - and has 4 outlets with 2.4kw. To cut that usability by 80% because we close the lid is a design flaw. The end goal for this truck is to have 4 grass whips, 2 push mowers and 2 zero turns on trailer with 4 employees. All...
  18. 400watt limit on Frunk

Testing some electric tools (Greenworks 80v grass whips) and setup chargers in frunk. Figured charge batteries in between sites. All was fine until closed up frunk and got the max 400watt message. Ford this a bit conservative, no doubt the reason is someone will stick a heater or something...
  19. Anybody have experience with the Pro SSV package?

If you can get one its worth it, $800 upcharge on base Pro including lightbar. We were told we can order but 0 on Fords quarterly build plan so no date on if/when we would see it.
  20. Anyone try using a welder yet?

The ProPower uses software breakers - ie 3601 amps and it turns off 240v circuit. Any tool that has a startup load will likely leave you cursing (compressors/AC/etc). That said the information you can get watching screen as a tool cycles is invaluable - watch an air compressor as watts...
