You are definitely not the only one in this boat. There was a thread just started last week talking about this exact issue: Price Protection After the Fact People | ⚡ F-150 Lightning Forum For Owners, News, Discussions (f150lightningforum.com)

Basically, these folks (myself included) are either taking the dealer at their word or getting it in writing that the dealer will refund the difference when Ford adjusts the invoice price.
I wish it was take it at their word or get it in writing… they’re just flatly saying it doesn’t exist which we all no is code for “thank you for the extra $5000 profit we’ll never send you anything”

so are they tacking on even though your ford online price is msrp?
I already spoke to the rep at the number provided and they played just as dumb as the dealer.

yes my dealer agreed invoice price is $53,294 per my Ford account which is the MSRP I ordered the pro model at which doesn’t show the PCO I got for being a wave one order in 2023.
The dealer won’t honor that price. They insist that Ford offers no price protection and the PCO is the price protection they will only sell for$58,294 less the PCO which still isn’t really a bad price but it’s $5000k more than what I have in writing and every signed and verbal agreement I’ve made with them throughout this process. They won’t acknowledge that price protection rebate should come from Ford so I’m at the mercy of just paying more and hoping they fill out the purchase correctly to get the money back from Ford.

You need to do a better job at keeping them honest…Have them reach out to their Ford rep so that they can clearly articulate PCO and price protection.

you can only lead a horse to water. If it wants more expensive water it’ll just die. They have refused to reach out to their rep. I started there. They just don’t want to be honorable and when you deal with dishonorable people you can’t reasonably convince them it’s in any interest of their own to be honorable. I regret ever having felt I could trust them.

Exactly the same situation here: Dealer says that Rep says that there is no order date MSRP price protection, the 7k PCO is all there is. Called Ford several times, they say: MSRP price protection is between you and the dealer, think of the $5k over order date MSRP as a de-facto ADM which is not tarnishing the Ford brand. I have 3 dealer demos that precisely spell out how this is to be handled. Nothing. No traction. At all....

Got my ABM lariat from tonkin in OR. No BS. Msrp. Nice folks.

Took it on a 400 mile coldish (36 degree) road trip day 1. What an EA and fast charging mess. I thought I was a believer but wow it is not a great road trip car in the cold. Wish I felt differently. Hoping summer is better.
Well that was brave of you. When I got my Tesla Model X it took about 3 months to get comfortable with it. Range anxiety. No knobs. The screen. I can’t imagine a road trip on day one! Hang in there.

Just got the call. Truck is at the dealership. Heading over to see how it goes. Hoping they will not screw my trade up. 2019 low miles STX 5.0 4WD should fetch a decent value. Fingers crossed.

Hey guys, when you get this notification and you had tried earlier to activate and it was pending, what does that mean? Does it mean that someone has been in the truck and pressed something? It just came through. The truck is currently at the train drop off lot awaiting pick up by transport truck to dealer - at least last I heard

Someone moving the truck denied the request to connect.

Hopefully that someone is moving it on to a transport truck headed to my dealer! Thank you for confirming.

Sooo….what does tailgate assist look like? Is it a piston to slow tailgate from slamming open? I have it listed as an option but I do not think it is on my XLT SR. What say ye?

On my 2017 Lariat there was a button on the key fob and pressing it would release the tailgate and it slowly lowered No noise or slamming

I also ordered the XLT model without the powered tailgate package. The assist is a piston to slow the tailgate when it opens to keep it from banging open. It is listed as an option on my Window Sticker.
