Ford has to pay for it, because even though its yours, you haven't taken delivery of it yet. but I think you are still stuck with it (no getting out of the loan now).

If my dealer could give me some kind of piece of mind, that if it never delivered or if it was a total loss in transit.. that my insurance wouldn't be picking up the tab (if they even would!) I wouldn't mind doing that. When I asked them about locking in a rate they said I couldn't. But I wonder if they didn't think I would go for something like this.. or have done it before.

I tried to extend my rate lock with USAA and they said they can extend it for 30 days if the dealership filled out a funding request form. The form itself read like a purchase agreement so the dealership just finished the purchase, their words were "We will be happy to take your money ahead of time". They did bring up if it were damage in transit that they would have to send it back and I would be waiting some more. which is fine with me at this point.

Just got an email from Ford which includes a picture of my truck on the assembley line. However, my truck is set to be deliveried from today - 21st. So a little behind...or are they..as I hadn't got confirmation from the dealer of than the email I received a fews days back saying my truck has been shipped. In any event here is my truck!!! Have you guys received the same email as well?

For you guys who have had your trucks built/shipped, did Ford send you a picture of your truck? I just got an email from Ford with the title "Your F-150® LightningTM just rolled off the assembly line." Attached was this picture. Color/trim checks out.

Strange that I'm only getting this email now since the truck was noted in the system as "built" on 6/30. Here's a shot of the rest of the email:

Just got the same thing. Trucks in transit, today's the first day of its ETA window.

And a quick tibit on these pictures. You can see the date it was taken by looking at the properties of the file. Taken a long time ago for me.. must be an automated thing to send out around the ETA timeline. That does line up with their production date in the tracker.

Though I am in Roseburg, ordered it through Tower Ford in Coos Bay as they sold at MSRP. Soon!

Date taken field is blank on mine when viewing properties in Windows, but EXIF data shows it was taken on 6/25 which is closer to my build date.

I just received an email from Ford that my Lightning just rolled off the assembly line with a photo that, I guess, is the actual unit. I appreciate what Ford is trying to do here with regard to building excitement that is generally associated with EV sales. But man the timing on their email system is disconnected to their tracker site. However, I'll give them some kudos and if that photo is of my actual truck then even higher marks.
