Am I missing something here? This notification talks about the Blue Cruise update process and that customers should turn on updates and connect to wifi to receive the BC updates. My truck has failed to update to 1.7.1 since December, and can't receive updates, my updates and notifications screen is grayed and the toggles are disabled. I don't see anything in this notification regarding the restoration of OTA. Without that the truck will never even be able to download the BC related updates.
Agree. It is not even applicable to the failed 1.7.1 update. Don't know how the topic of BC even came up.Am I missing something here? When working with software like this, what you see doesn't always reflect what is going on on the back end of the device. But since Ford isn't really transparent about this issue, we can only assume that there are still controls in place and OTA engine can still be accessed by the Ford Servers and manipulated even though you see the settings greyed out. Since I can verify that the truck is still communicating with Ford Pass, Ford can still see the truck. But its a guessing game since Ford wont provide more details around this.Am I missing something here? Your correct, according to Ford this will not be fixed via. OTA and we will need to go to the dealer OR go the FDRS route. I'm fine with it because I have a recall that needs to addressed anyway. At least knowing they have a fix hopefully they wont brick my truck! So it appears the OTA fix will not come OTA. Does this mean it will require a trip to the dealer to fix it? Or the proper VCMII with a data port and a licensed FDRS to perform the APIM module update fix?
This will fix the OTA update problem. Unfortunately it looks like the fix is not OTA.Am I missing something here? I just made an appointment at my dealer. The soonest they can get me in is 5 April. The service tech I'll have wasn't there but the person at the service desk knew about the problem and didn't say anything about an OTA fix coming.So... I just called my dealer and they claim that Ford is working on an OTA fix that will be released "sometime in April" that will care for this.
My BS meter is going off, but if true that would be the ideal solution. Has anyone else called their dealer on this?
