agree but at least with my 24 platinum - the sports mode is almost smoother (definitely quicker off the line ) and should be the normal mode and the sports mode should be the normal mode if that makes sense…..at least compared to my 23 lariat.

the 24 platinum steering is stiffer as well in normal mode then my 23 lariat. I know this has been documented but since the 24’s charge at a slower rate then the 23’s - is that a software issue that can be OTA or is a physical reasoning to it ?

it’s a shame my 23 lariat gained about 35 miles per hour when charging at my 80 amp vs my 24 that barely gets to 20 . I knew that going in but didn’t think it would be that bad or noticeable.
If they can speed up charging at a super charger not sure why they can’t go back to normal charge rates then my 23.
Ford changed the onboard charger for 2024 to 48A max for both Standard and Extended range. This shows up in the at home charging speeds. A shame really as you are trying to fill a battery that is almost 2x the size of the model Y at the same speed.

If my truck had any sort of equity I'd make the jump to a '24 Plat, found an AntiMatter Blue down in Maryland but I just can't bring myself to basically restart the process all over again. The numbers after X-Plan incentives/pricing was tempting, though.

Unfortunately I'd have to sell the truck to Carvana and then go get the truck on my own since their trade in number was hilariously low.

I had the same issue with the value of my 2023 Lariat. Mine was paid for so I didn't have issue of negative equity. The buy offer from Carvana, CarMax and dealer were low. The dealer finally came up to my number and called me 2 hours before the month end closed for the store.

I replace my vehicles quickly so normally leasing is not something I consider. With the lease incentives it made sense to me to lease. I was planning to lease and buy it our immediately. But with the 0% lease finance rate. I just put the money from my sale of my 2023 in the bank in a high yield savings account and kept the lease with zero down.

The incentives for buying it outright were $2000 less and still had 0% financing. I took the lease in case the value drops crazy low so I could walk away after 3 years, if I still had it.

I was hoping to find a Lariat with the only two options being Max Tow + Pro Power OnBoard so it qualifies for the tax credit by ~$50...but no one has it around the 500 mile radius on Ford's website. Then when using the Lariats in stock I found it was cheaper to get a Platinum somehow due to the number of incentives thrown at them.

Their trade in was 27k and Carvana was $34k, told the sales guy and the GM and they just said too far apart. If they would have matched then I'd have gone down that day after pulling my audio stuff out.

  • I feel road abnormalities more in the Platinum. Feels like tires ride slightly stiffer.
  • Ride is much less "floaty". Truck feels more "Planted". I don't know if its the spring rates or calibration of the shocks.
Platinum has larger wheels and shorter sidewalls, which is obvious but it also has higher spring rates. I'd heard people complain about the floaty ride but never detected that in my Platinum. At some point I read what @SmoothJ posted - see below - and it made sense.

I rotate between Lariat and Platinum wheels and tires seasonally and detect only a small ride difference. I suspect the higher spring rates on the Platinum is mostly responsible for the difference in ride.

It was listed in the e-source book for the Lightning. Took me a bit to find it, but here it is.

I had the part numbers too and I copied the data from Oasis, but I don't have access anymore and I am not sure where I put it.

Massaging seats make in "Relaxed" mode sooths the back and my butt on rides.
Yep!☺

Throttle response is more ICE like.
This is fascinating. I can't imagine why this is different. Is this a Platinum thing? Is this a 2024 thing? To be determined...

The Platinum has a Gloss front "grill" which looks like it will scratch easily compared the Lariat when removing Florida Bugs
The gloss black looks great...for about a month, at which point you'll realize that the Florida bugs you are trying to remove are dings. Get it PPF ASAP if you want it to continue looking nice. I inquired about painting mine and my body shop guys talked me out of it because it will inevitably chip again.🤬

Upgraded Blue Cruise seems to only give me the addition of automatic lane change when signal light is activated on mapped roads. It does nothing new on unmapped roads
I find it centers on all roads better than BC1.0. Maybe your 2023 truck had a more advanced version than my 2022.
