I replaced my 2023 Lightning Lariat ER with a new 2024 Platinum last 10 days ago.
Here is my report after only 10 days of ownership and 335 miles on the odometer.

Range:
  • Definitely about a 5%-10% reduction in range at 60-65 mph trip 2.0 vs 2.1 MKH at 60-65 mph on the GOM.
  • The 125 trip I routinely do took 65 kWhs where the Lariat ER took 59-61 KWHs to replenish.
  • I feel road abnormalities more in the Platinum. Feels like tires ride slightly stiffer.
  • Ride is much less "floaty". Truck feels more "Planted". I don't know if its the spring rates or calibration of the shocks.
  • PaaK walk away lock works flawlessly when using my iPhone
  • Massaging seats make in "Relaxed" mode sooths the back and my butt on rides.
  • Ability to use ProPower onboard with the truck turned OFF works great to precool our powered coolers before a trip
  • Throttle response is more ICE like.
  • The Platinum has a Gloss front "grill" which looks like it will scratch easily compared the Lariat when removing Florida Bugs
  • Upgraded Blue Cruise seems to only give me the addition of automatic lane change when signal light is activated on mapped roads. It does nothing new on unmapped roads

  • Ford offered a killer deal on leasing. 0.05% interest on the lease and $21,615 off MSRP and a 55% residual with 39mo/7,500 mile lease.
  • Surprised it has "propulsion sounds" when getting on it.

No, It's more toned down then my 2023 Lariat.
Since I did the same thing - yesterday I put it in sport mode and it actually seems smoother to me / much more like the 23 lariat in regards to take off…..for obvious reasons but the steering /suspension almost felt a little softer which I don’t get .

It definitely does scratch extremely easily. Mine will need to be repainted soon.

That can be turned off. I don't know why anyone would want that on. It's a stupid feature.

You should also notice quite a difference in the sound system, at least if you're playing from a high quality source.

I live in the woods. It's gorgeous here, but I often encounter deer, bobcats, cougar and sometimes neighbors and their pets along the twisty road home. I see them a lot more with my Lariat (no propulsion sounds) than I ever did with Hemis and Cummins and other naturally loud rigs. I didn't want most of what the platinum offered beyond my trim level, but I do wish I could turn that on to give some advance warning of my impending arrival in their space... I guess I'm the use case, lol
Cheers

your situation makes sense, but this feature is only audible to passengers inside the truck.

Hah! If true, then I don't covet that feature either. I'd rather listen to my music. Thanks for the clarification and yeah, that's dumb.

Congrats on the upgrade. Please tell us more about how PPOB works with the truck off. Can you control on/off from FordPass?

When ProPower is selected there is a switch on the 15" screen to select it on of off with truck turned off. Then just turn the truck OFF and power remains at each outlet until battery threshold to shut it down is reached. The selection does not remain for future starts. It must be reselected after each startup of the truck if desired.

I have not found anything on Ford Pass to monitor or control it ProPower Onboard. In past FP versions there was ability to monitor the power consumption on each output. I really miss that feature. I n the past I could power the cabin and go to the well pump, turn the well pump ON and monitor the current the pump was drawing with the APP. I really miss that feature.

not sure how you Lariat worked, but my 22 Platinum rips, maybe I need to try a Lariat. I believe overall, the Platinum is slightly slower than the Lariat due to the added weight.

Wonder if they are tuning the 24's differently with the energy pedal.

Congrats on the truck. Agree with others, propulsion sounds are dumb. Every time I get an update (well, back when I still received updates), it was always reenabled by default. It might be different if it piped in some true sound like straight pipes in Sport mode or if I could upload my own sounds.

Have you tried it in Sport Mode? I found that made a difference. It responds more like the Model Y Performance that I traded in. I definitely take the ICE F-150s off the line. I've had a couple try to keep up...not a chance.
