They call it the guess o' meter for a reason. I just do the standard:

Battery Size * SoC * miles/kWh = range.

So if battery size is 131kWh at 50% SoC and you are getting 2.1 mi/kWh

(131kWh*.5)*2/1mi/kWh = 137.5mi*kWh/kWh

kWh cancels out and you get 137.5 mi of range.

I prefer percent of battery as well. I like to know how quickly I am using my battery charge. The miles remaining is only gets accurate when there is only a small amount of battery capacity left. With 10kwh remaining or 7.5 percent, the range estimate should be fairly accurate (whether it is 17 miles or 23 miles, it will be pretty close). With 100 kWh the same variability per kWh would be 170 to 230 miles. Please tell me the percentage of actual kWh remaining. I can do the math with my own experience and expectations of predicted "fuel economy". I do not know what assumptions the GOM is making. With our bolt I looked at the charge percent indication (in 5 percent increments) far more than the predicted range. Go to bed at 45 degrees and 45 percent charge and wake up at 15 degrees, same charge but 60 at percent of the predicted range. All well within the day's planned driving.
If only automakers would let us customize a screen. Let us know what parameters are monitored and can be displayed and give us a choice about display format. I can do this with my phone and Bluetooth obd2 adapter. Why not let there be a display screen that we can select on our own.

Oh here we go. Just wait until winter.
Oh yeah - I can just hear it now - "my range is so bad, I am going to sue the manufacturer, dealer and everyone in the world!"

The funny thing is new EV owners have never learned to drive EV style. Trying to change from ICE to EV driving in cold weather, high speeds, and mashing on the accelerator makes for low range.

Sounds like the OP will end up selling theirs and going back to ICE.

Lots of folks assume they’ll get the epa rated range but in their ice vehicle they accept the tests are controlled and you’ll never hit the epa rated MPG.

Also, not unique to EVs is weather and driving behaviors. They all effect range in your EV…….and your ice vehicle. It’s just that we never think about it because of the ubiquity and speed at which ice vehicles can be refueled. The only real difference is the fuel and speed between them. All other conditions are the same.

OP can achieve EPA, and perhaps better by hypermiling. You only need to get 2.44 miles / kWh to hit 320. You may easily do better under the right conditions.

Well, just because I want to help you out….I will take it off your hands and drive it back to NY state to really shake down the range…..but now it’s used so I will give $40,000 for it 😜

There would be more complains about that. Same percentage of battery level means different range under different situations.

100% in spring means 350 miles when you drive locally and not so aggresive, 200 miles during freezing cold winter especially without heated seats.

I test drove a Lariat ER on Friday and it had both remaining mileage and percentage of charge remaining displayed on the left side of the dash.
