Hey all so I've been testing this new phone mount/holder for a week or so,and I'm still working on a video for my channel, but I figured I should share it with you guys sooner than that. It's not so much a mod as a product that is super easy to install, (if you can even call it that) and remove if needed and is incredibly sturdy and has a simple, but genius design.

It's as easy as it looks to "install" and remove and the bracket can be kept in place while the phone mount removed from the ball socket connection.

The caveats:

1. While your phone is mounted in the holder it will block the BlueCruise sensors next to the the display so if you use BlueCruise frequently this may not be the phone holder for you. But generally, I find a phone holder most useful for city driving anyway so this may be a non-issue.

2. This will only work for those with the larger 15.5" Sync 4A display so unfortunately for all you without it, you'll have to find something else!

Pretty nice! I dug the WeatherTech Cup Phone with extension out of my ‘11 F150 (where it didn’t work) and it’s great in the Lightning.

I just drop mine into the slot in the console beside the shifter. With Android Auto I rarely need to look at the phone anyway and it's super accesible if I need to grab it for some reason.

Except it slams left and right as you turn the truck and makes noise when doing it. Annoys the hell out of me. It's not a design fault, but that slot isn't useful for phones IMHO.

Stop whipping the truck around like its some kind of racecar 😄

I use the slot, my pocket or the wireless charging pad depending on my needs at the time.

The only time I have my phone up/out in the open is if I'm taking a conference call while charging and can't be bothered to use a laptop, in that case having a flip cover is awesome because you can open the cover and latch it between the screen and the "are you paying attention - sensor" and the phone just naturally hangs over the edge of the screen.

Must be phone/case specific because my Android 6a in a case doesn't move

Ehhh, it happens on normal left and right turns. It's probably because my phone is older, thinner and hasn't turned into a fat overgrown beast that most phones today have become. :)

You might try some Velcro. You can put a layer of the soft side along the sides of that slot. Do both sides if one side isn't enough.
