It is very competitive. You can easily find that out by doing some web searching. Ford Credit wouldn't be anywhere near that number.

I shopped around quite a bit before my truck showed up at my dealership. Hereā€™s what I found.

Parsons FCU @ 4.99%. Iā€™ve heard they can take a while for them to finance a loan. Iā€™m guessing their volume has gone way up recently and theyā€™re a relatively small FCU.

Armco FCU @ 6.25%. They were offering 3% up through March, so I was a little annoyed my truck wasnā€™t delivered before then. Theyā€™re also backed up several weeks it sounds like.

A couple local credit unions were around 5 to 7%, depending.

Ford has been recently advertising some 0%, so I was hopeful that might apply to the Lightning. When I talked to my dealership, it sounds like that only applies to the slower moving vehicles. Does not apply to Lightning. I didnā€™t even get a formal finance quote from my dealership.

My CU was the best when I got mine in July 2022 @ 3.49% for 84 months.

Still pretty good now - beats out PenFed by 2 points.

Assuming top tier credit:

Hawaii credit unions have great rates for some reason, a friend got 2.75% 36months from Hawaiian Financial (3% plus EVs get 0.25% off), Hickam Federal is supposed to be even lower. Hickam requirements is live in Hawaii or lived in Hawaii or have a family member who is a member.

Wings Financial Credit Union (open to people in the aviation industry and residents of a few specific metro areas) is offering 4.49% for 36 months up to 6.24% for 84 months.

Compare with U.S. Bank, where the best rate is 6.96% for up to 60 months right now. You can save a lot by joining a credit union.

I was lucky enough to secure 3.99% for 84 months in July 2022 via Ford Credit. They were by far the least expensive.

Navy Federal Credit Union gave me 5.00% for 48 mos. I gave that to the dealer and asked them to beat it or match it. They were able to match it through JP Morgan. The dealers really do want to do your financing even if it is through a 3rd party. They should be able to match most credit union offers.

This isnā€™t really a fair comparison. Itā€™s a credit union exclusive to my U.S. Navy base. Not Navy Federal. I got 3.39 for 72 months. I completed the loan about 3 weeks ago (I forget the exact date). But they locked in my rate from when I applied in January. When the truck was supposed to deliver. I was just a couple days away from losing what was locked in. I guess the 90th day. The loan girl told me the current rates were higher than what she gave me. Good luck on your hunt. If I hadnā€™t gotten the rate I did I was prepared to walk away from my Lightning. I hope you find a good rate

Yea this is actually a pain point for me. I have a 21 PB at 0% and my Lightning is just now making it through production and there are no similar incentives. Not sure I'm gonna be willing to give up the 0
