I find it very odd that supposedly 201 Lightnings were delivered in May yet forum members accounted for what, like 2 or 3 of them?

Because we probably only have 1 or 2% of the people with orders on the forum. For every forum member that gets a truck there are 50-100 that we don't know about.

This matches up with the overall percentage of orders/reservations represented here.

Rain was very light the second or third drive. I did not push it too hard when it was raining.
Dry pavement was a different story. It feels strange under hard acceleration. You feel the torque steer momentarily and then the truck gets a sway sort of feel coupled with outstanding acceleration. It wasn't uncomfortable but a different feel from other vehicles with this much straight line acceleration.

From what the tax man has at the moment it looks like:
442 forum members have registered orders out of 20,000(estimated MY22). So each forum member represents about 45 total orders.

10 have been delivered to forum members for 2.3% delivered for about 450 likely total delivered.

40 forum members have delivery dates for 9% with delivery dates and about 1800 customers with order delivery dates.

Out of the 10 deliveries 8 are early(1 other looks like a typo and could have been early)

For those of you that have taken delivery, or are about to, do the following for a little fun.
1. Put in sport mode (may or may not make a difference, it sure does in my Raptor with regards to behavior)
2. Turn off traction control.
3. Get up to about 40, then floor it.
4. Try to wipe the grin off your face after you realize your 6000+ lb, AWD truck just broke the tires loose. At 40

I have no real comparison, but would just be curious if some warning is needed. It's all about the traction control systems - especially on an EV. Ford is definitely some different than a Tesla, but in a Model 3 you can't turn off the traction control without a secret code. A couple of the first people that turned off traction control and floored it - ended up in a ditch or crunched car. I'm just saying ease into it the first time or two until you know how it is going to handle in each mode and without traction control. Then you can have some fun.

We love reading about the firsts, but we don't want to read about the first wrecked Lightning for a while.

I agree. I should realize there is a very diverse group here. I should have qualified my remarks with OBVIOUSLY DONā€˜T DO THIS IF YOU DO NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE IN A HIGH HORSEPOWER CAR. I have 5 vehicles that have 450+ HP, one is 760. Thatā€™s just the kind of stuff I couldnā€™t wait to test out. The Lightning is a LOT of power for someone that is not used to it. You are correct, please be careful!

2022 Lightning (Ordered 6/19, delivered 10/28/22)
Wondering how long it will be before we see a Lightning totaled out on social media or at copart?

(Not wishing anything bad on anyone...just pretty sure it will happen sooner rather than later given the power in these things)
