Got into truck (2023 Lariat ER) and had this message. So in the center of the volume knob I turned on the audio, but still nothing. When the audio on the steering wheel volume buttons nor the volume dial works. When I turn it there is no strips showing the volume settings. But the dash is showing the name of the song that is playing. We did hit 100F today, which is hardly ever does here and I had to leave the truck outside because the drive was full of garage sale stuff. Could the heat affect it. Tried disconnecting the negative battery but same thing. Any suggestions?

No audio on any source? Did you try rebooting the touchscreen?

Yes and this morning when it was 49 degrees everything works. So it must have been the heat. If so what do people in Nevada, Arizona, & etc do?

This has never happened to me, and I live in Palm Springs where - as the world knows - we hit an all-time high of 124 degrees recently. It's not the heat alone.

Can you send over a message with your VIN and estimated mileage? I would like to take a closer look at this audio issue on my end.

2024 Ford F-150 Flash
Replying to this thread as this happened to me yesterday in my 1 mo old 24 Flash. The car audio was off - though the chimes felt like they were coming thru the speakers. The Sound menu in the car settings was greyed out, and the Radio Audio was off (see enclosed).

I had read the forum and tried various tips.
1. Stopping, turning off, open door, turn back on
2. rebooting system by holding lower left/right steering wheel buttons
3. Disconnected, rebooted and reconnected my iphone / carplay.
but no luck.

As it just so happened i was heading to my Ford dealer for them to do a touch up paint as part of the Due Bill of the sale.

The service guy said well it may take a couple of days to determine what the issue is - which in my mind just meant they didn't have a specific answer. He offered me a loaner so I went back to my things to get my things (Maybe 5-10 minutes of elapsed time when the truck was off and unoccupied) and boom the Audio is working again.

🤷‍♂️

I've got the same(similar?) problem. No blinker clicks. No startup sound, Sound menu greyed out.
This started happening recently after an update.

@ScottC -did you get this resolvged?

Hank, I have not had this problem again since my post. I’d say try to reboot screen. Could be a handshake issue there. I think you might try to start your car without your phone connected and see if you can get it working on its own.
If you’re using CarPlay I would also say may sure your phone is updated as CarPlay is evolving. Good luck.

Didn't you recently update with FDRS? Did this happen via OTA after you updated with FDRS?

Thanks. Yeah, reboot got phone audio back. Still no blinker clicks or start up noises. Cross traffic alert noises sound like they are coming from a tiny speaker under the steering wheel now.
