On Platinums with massaging seats any time anyone touches the lumbar/massaging buttons the seat adjustment screen appears and never disappears. Ford could program the screen to time-out after 10 or 15 seconds but they don't because like six people care about this and it would cost some amount of money to implement it.
Eeek! That's a head scratcher. Seems like implementing a timeout would be a no-brainer.

You can say the same about many features. If you have the capability, then why not implement it? If some people don't use it, fine, but it may be useful to others.
Because it's software and software takes resoures (to write; to test; to download; to change the users manual; etc.) Any company -- even the software giants like Google and Microsoft -- never have enough resourses to do everything. So things need to get prioritized. And ALL I was saying is that I personally would prioritize this very, very low.

No worries.

And I understand the constraints of implementing features, but I don't think this is a not enough resources issue, but rather an integration issue with 3rd party hardware. Tesla is able to roll out features at an alarming rate, mostly because the hardware is either theirs or is setup to already talk to their software.

Controlling the hardware makes things much easier for the software team, you are right about that!!

I don't know if the FordPass API has a command to fold the mirrors, but if it did then it might be possible through a 3rd party Home Assistant solution. There is currently a Home Assistant integration project (link below) that gives you info straight from the FordPass API that you don't currently see in the FordPass app (12v battery SOC, Window up/down status, etc). One of our members here is helping on that project and making some great progress. If it was possible and coded into the API, you could theoretically setup a mirror folding Home Assitant routine based on GPS. It's probably more work than most people would want to do, but you can always request the folding mirrors feature be added to that Github project.

Thanks for the shout-out!

I haven't had any time to really do anything recently, I've been swamped at work.

I hope to get around to doing more soon.

@trailcat, I haven't seen any API references to the folding mirrors in the data. Which would somewhat explain why it's not a thing in the app. The HA integration is reliant upon the API (we just get all of it, where the official App only displays some of it).
I'll double check the data and see if I can find anything, but I wouldn't get your hopes up - especially considering the app can't even open the Frunk or powered Tailgate.

I don't see mirrors as an entity.

Yeah, @trailcat there is no entry, or any mention of mirrors.
Nothing to even detect if they are "open" or "folded".
Unless Ford adds detection and/or control to the app/API there is nothing that can be done - with software.

Speaking of folding mirrors, wouldn’t it be possible (AND NICE) if the rear view camera adjusted for the angle of the folded mirrors, so as to NOT give a distorted 360 view when reversing retracted (as in, backing out of my narrow garage)?
That would be a sweet update.

... and there are almost always unintended consequences associated with any update. I just received my 6.2 update and it turned wifi off in the truck. I can isolate it to 6.2 because I checked that wifi access was on just before the download initiated.

I also discovered wifi off in my truck this weekend. I have 6.2 and 6.3. Overall it isn't a big deal, but it would just be nice if settings weren't changed with an update.

Weird, my wifi stayed on after the 6.2.0 installed this morning.
I just double checked again after seeing your reports.

Funny thing is, right after I started in accessory mode, I pulled up the UPDATES screen, initially the switch was off, but after about 5 seconds it switched itself on again, likely part of the slow boot-strap process.

Have an observation on MANUALLY folding the mirrors, and this thread seems like the best place for it.

I'm only up to Power Up 6.5. But somewhere in the 6.x's, maybe 6.4 or 6.5, the manual folding mirror behavior changed for me.

Before, I would always power off my truck, and, Oops!, I meant to fold the mirror manually, but I forgot!. I'd then have to power on the truck again, have the driver's seat go back and forth, and press the Fold Mirrors button. I don't want to Autofold the mirrors because if I'm powering the truck on and off in the garage or just parking in my driveway, I see no need to useless wear out the folding mechanism (I wish the seat movement could be manually controlled, too, rather than just yo-yo-ing back and forth all the time - I wonder when that's going to wear out!).

Now, I find I can still fold the mirrors manually for some time after the truck is powered off, which is what I wanted all along. Haven't checked what finally kills manual mirror folding (getting out of driver's seat?, opening door?, locking truck?), but will update post when I find out.

Edit_Update: Opening the driver's side door kills the ability to manually fold the mirrors after the truck is powered off. Raising my butt out of the driver's chair and leaning on the center console plus feet on the floor did not kill the ability to fold the mirrors right after the truck is powered off.

You can turn off the seat yo-yoing by turning off the Easy Entry and Exit. It drove me crazy but I’m pretty tall so my seat is almost all the way back. It only moved a couple of inches so it wasn’t worth it but if you sit closer to the steering wheel it might be useful.

You could turn off the Easy Entry and then set the third driver profile to put the seat all the way back if you want manual control.
