Ahh I see. Strange it isn’t capable of charging at 40 amps continuous (80% of 14-50 plug). Does ford have plans to sell other connector types for the mobile charger that would automatically limit current to 80% of the specific outlet? You’d think they’d have a 14-30 dongle that could charge at 24 amps and also the weirdo RV park (30 amp 120v) outlet for campgrounds…
No known plans at this time. For 2023, Ford gives you the option to take $500 instead of the FMC. Take the money and buy a more capable EVSE.

It's been the same charger for years across multiple vehicles, so unlikely.

I've used the gen2 Tesla UMC and a TeslaTap on 4 different outlets so far (14-50, 14-30, 6-20, 5-15). It is kind of expensive as a solution, but probably the most flexible if you need to charge at a lot of different receptacles, and they seem to hold their value pretty well if you ever want to sell it.

It works on my truck. You need to use a tt-30p to 14-30r adapter that's made for EV charging (parkworld makes one) and an EVSE that can be set to 24 amps or less.

That looks really, really nice! Some of the other, cheaper, Amazon options are missing either the 40a or the 12a options in addition to the 24a.

Biggest hurdle is a 50' extension cord. I'd rather the adapters go first, then the cord, then the EVSE. This could be a winner if they make extensions for their connector. If you go to their European website, they do make extensions!

Also it looks like the $800 price only includes two adapters of the usual flavors. Per the Q+A on the Amazon page, the other adapters aren't even out yet.

The extension cord issue were my thoughts on this. Looks like a great product.

The NEC requires that the plug-to-EVSE-brains be very short, because it's the EVSE brains that provide much of the safety (ground fault, etc.) That's why every mobile EVSE has such a short cord between receptacle and unit.

I saw this article yesterday. Haven't tried it but I am impressed with the number of adapters available:

Has selectable amperage right on the front of it as well.

I haven't tried it but thought I'd share what I saw. $700 is a bit steep, but it appears to be very well built.
Finally a flexible J1772 EVSE! The Forbes article mentions it includes all the adapters of them, but the Amazon link only shows it with the 5-15 and 14-50 adapters. I couldn't find how much their adapters cost or where to buy them.

The Tesla UMC is $200 (if it ever comes back in stock) and a 40A TeslaTap is $140. Adapters for various plugs are $35-$45 each, or get all 7 for $245. The whole shootin match would set you back $580. That's still a fair bit cheaper than $700 and you get the adapter to plug into a HPWC that's set to 40A or less. If you only need one or two oddball adapters, the gap widens.

Yes - before I clicked on the Amazon link I was hoping we'd get the whole thing for about $500 with all the adapters... then I saw the price, then I saw they only had 2 included. Nonetheless, I posted it anyway as it seems to be engineered very well, just perhaps not in the sweet spot.

If you find a 30 amp 120VAC outlet that is legal and safe then the F150 can use it if you have a 24A EVSE that runs on 120VAC.
