Good point of inquiry, the ER trucks onboard AC/DC 80 amp limit is an ideal 19.2 kWh, anything above this value is likely a DC charger.
New theory: GOM handles range estimates differently depending on the source of charge. AC charge is EPA adjusted for temperature and DC doesn't reset.

Logically this makes sense because you are most likely to be charging at home using AC and on a trip using DC. If you are on a trip you are probably going to drive the same way after the charge as you were before the charge. Your type of driving is likely more variable when you leave your house thus the reset.

Honestly I'm not sure about the work chargers Firn ...... I work at a University and these chargers were actually meant/installed to charger to charge a small fleet of electric busses for use on campus ...... They haven't even purchased the electric busses yet LOL ..... But it works for me!

I'm old, so yes, I travel 50 miles each way ..... both ways uphill, barefoot and in the snow! Lol

Actually, it's pretty much all flat NJ turnpike driving ..... 100 miles round trip each workday.

When I run into the head electrician here, I'll have to quiz him and see what he thinks about this anomaly concerning the charger

Im really leaning towards it being a charger or charger/car communication issue ...... Mainly because this afternoon I found that only 3 of the 6 chargers at work will actually charge me truck without causing the charger to throw an error and stop charging the truck ...... Yet no one else to my knowledge has experienced this error situation on the 3 chargers giving me issues ...... everyone else seems to have no issues with any of the 6 chargers ..... so who know what the he
I doubt it's the charger.

What's traffic like on your drive to work vs your drive home? For example, are you able to keep a steady speed on the way home vs stop-and-go on the way to work? What's the temperature difference between your morning commute and your afternoon commute?

The truck uses long-term and short-term driving behavior to guess at range. If you drive to work in the cold with stop-and-go traffic, and you get poorer efficiency, it might be predicting that same behavior for the drive home. Then when that's not what happened and you had a smooth drive with relatively warmer temperatures and higher efficiency, the truck's range estimate is updated.

To test this theory, make note of the amount of charge used on your commute, the reported efficiency, approximate temperature, etc. when you arrive home and when you arrive at work.

Lots of intelligent and interesting replies! I'm quite impressed and grateful! Thank you everyone that added their knowledge and ideas!

Here's a couple thoughts and reply comments.....

My commute is all highway and I do have a heavy foot ...... My speeds ofter vary between 70-90 mph in both directions and I'm painfully aware of the hit I take on milage by doing so ..... but i blame the trucks torche, unbelievable acceleration and just all around fun driving it! Lol

I'm sure it's a bit colder in the morning ...... but its certainly not warm going home either! Lol

Someone mentioned setting departure times ....... and a (dim, flickering) light bulb came on!

I do indeed have a departure time set for the morning when I leave home ....... But not in the afternoon when I leave work.
.This fact MUST be contributing to this issue ..... In what capacity and how impactful I dont know ..... yet anyways.

Tomorrow I will set a departure time for my estimated departure from work going home and see how much this is influencing this disparity.

Thanks once again everyone that contributed ..... You all ROCK!

You might see a 20 to 30 mile improvement in the optimism of the GOM when using departure time and plugged into energy.

Assuming you're not really in need of 100% at either end of the trip, charge to 95% at both home and work, time the charge and departure condition so they conclude as close as possible to leave time.
