Has anyone purchased any blind spot mirrors that they would recommend? I have had them on my other trucks and very useful. I find the BLIS system doesn't do well when merging onto a freeway and have had several close calls. Here is one that gets several recommendations on the Gen14 forum: https://www.amazon.com/Compatible-compatible-14th-Generation-NXTGEN/dp/B0BVW6FXXC. It looks like the Lightning has the same mirror.

Not interested in getting into a debate about how to "properly set up a side view mirror". I am blind in my left eye so the field of view on my driver-side mirror is limited already and I can't look over my left shoulder and see squat unless I do an Exorcist move.

Thanks. I did read that but they are doing replacements or strap-ons which may be overkill. And significantly more than $25! But I was interested in the options they had.

I got these for cheap and they work just fine. Not a perfect fit but gets the job done for half the price of the NXTGENs.

I have used these MaxiView Blind Spot Mirrors on several vehicles for about 15 years, and they are the best I have found. They are adjustable via a tight ball-and-socket mount, and they provide a clear image. You would have to tape over them to run through a car wash which has brushes.

Thanks! That’s the same one I was looking at.
They work as advertised the mounting is super easy and the doesn't use an excessive amount of 3M tape if you did have to remove them for some reason. I know this truck has Blindspot monitoring but the can't predict lane changes of other drivers as you merge from one lane to another.

Rejected a rectangular mirror that was going to hang down with a clamp from the lower edge of the main side view mirror housing as it was going to hit the door when folded in and block the spot light, if not the camera. Did not want mirror on top edge.

So, O'Reilly Auto Parts 3" K Source Blind Spot round mirror is what I chose to stick driver's side mirror lower left for less than $6 out the door. Turns out that 3" is actually 2-7/8" minus 3/16" black edge on circumference = 2-1/2" convex mirror. Ok size, was looking for a 2.5" on Amazon, but wanted one without a ball mount. When placing, set round mirror up against inner side of lower left and moved it up a 1/16" before sticking. Noticed that if one adjusts side view mirror tilt out to left too much, the edges of the main and convex mirrors actually reflect back the inside edge of the main housing.

Final view from driver's seat:

I think an actual 3" or even larger diameter round mirror would have been acceptable. I think lower left is the area I glance at first when trying to see if the blind-spot area is clear and the convex mirror widens that view. Not sure why the whole driver's side mirror is not made convex, like the passenger side. Maybe to see fast traveling passing vehicles (police) more clearly in the distance?

I bought these and put it on the driver's side mirror. Works great! Didn't bother on the other one since it has good coverage.

I'd recommend checking out your local Auto Parts store to find a variety of options. They usually have a good selection, and you can even ask the staff for recommendations based on your specific needs. You can also apply to oem used auto parts customer service. Don't forget to read some online reviews to see what other drivers have to say about the mirrors you're considering.
