@Ford Motor Company - you asked me via PM to work with a dealer first, which I have done. Can you help now?

Reach out to them by DM, they WILL NOT engage a public conversation about our issues.
Take note, they will facilitate technical teams communication with your dealer service team
That's as far as they go.

Hi. I did as a follow-up to our existing DM thread but they haven’t responded in a few days, hence my public ping :)

As a follow up, I went to a different dealer and sat in a 2024 lightning. Cold start. Started to feel heat in a minute. Warmth after 3 minutes and just fine (albeit not as toasty as the Mach-e) at 10 minutes. I recorded the entire experience. Fan sounded much different.

I am confident it’s an issue with my truck. The original dealer will replace the blower motor tomorrow given the DTC I originally told them about.
Let’s see………

BTW, Driver Focused seems like it’s intended to limit heat use to half the car for efficiency purposes rather than a button you press to redirect all the heat to the driver. You can’t heat half a cabin so that feature stays off for me.

OP Update:

After initially resisting, the dealer looked at the blower motor DTC and replaced the blower motor. They also apologized for being snarky with me about the heater having related coolant, and about there being both a heat pump and resistive heater…..because……it turns out I was correct!

I got the truck back today and it certainly seems that the heat is working like other lightning’s I have driven. Yippee!! Only more testing will tell.

a few observations:

(1) Unless you are running out of battery, don’t bother with “driver-focused” heat as it makes the cabin colder in my opinion.

(2) I think that the giant moonroof isn’t well insulated and so it’s not a bad idea to keep the shade closed while heating up.

Glad they seen the light and fixed your concern.
