Can a dealer change the window sticker?

I'm looking seriously at a '24 ER Lariat with max tow pkg. Deducting 'Destination & Delivery' charges from the window sticker (allowed per IRS rules) gets the MSRP just under the $80K limit for the tax credit. But I read elsewhere here that the same truck went for ~$67K.

What am I missing?

The official window sticker cannot be changed except by the manufacturer.

"went for" is what the truck might sell for with rebates, tax credits (advanced by the dealership in 2024), etc. That's not the window sticker.

True. Also window sticker can be different if the MSRP changes between the order date and the time the sticker is created.

$80k - Tax Credit = $72.5k
$72.5k - Ford Incentive = $70k
Dealer discount is all that's left.

As stated earlier, only the manufacture can change window sticker. My 2023 Lariat ER originally had a sticker with $93xxx. After the massive price drop in 2023 Ford re-invoiced it to the dealer and created a new window sticker with new lower price.

if you are not in a cold climate and don’t need the new heat pump I would look for a new 2023 on a decker lot with a MSRP below $80k before D&D . It will be discounted and it has 3 years of blue cruise included

Back in October 2023 we bought our ER Lariat with a $2500 dealer discount, a $7,500 Ford Rebate and a $750 private cash offer. We then collected the tax credit on our income tax return so it cost us $63,580 after factoring in the $7,500 credit plus tax and fees.

The new MSRP was $81,840 or $79,845 before destination charges. It just qualified for the tax credit.
