I saw a photo that shows that Slippery Mode has been added to the 2025 Lightnings, so I confirmed by downloading the owners manual. I see too that the previously selected Drive Mode will automatically be enabled for up to 4 hours after ignition off. I'd love to have both of these in my 2024 Flash and I'm wondering if it's possible to enable those items via FORScan. It would be even better if we could change the amount of time that the previous Drive Mode would be active.

You can try. THe 25 runs a new ABS module. I had already looked into this when I saw the slippery mode in 25s.

The modes are activated int he ABS> THe 25 runs a new firmware and runs a new Expedition ABS module versus the F150 ABS

The change that would be made int he ABS module is

The 25s run a new PCM firmware also. Cant promise this will enable the mode but this is what you would change to try.

This does not answer your question, but I have found that 1-pedal driving is an excellent replacement for slippery mode. The way the throttle and regen braking work do a great job of keeping the truck in a straight line in less than optimal conditions. After driving my truck through 1 northeast winter, I believe I would stay in 1-pedal in those conditions and not even look at slippery mode.

APIM changes needed as well? I would imagine there is a toggle somewhere .

If it would let me I’d put the truck into “slippery mode” when in cruise control on the freeway. I think it’s far too aggressive in its push to return to the set cruise control speed with its default settings.

Interesting - Livinitup's spreadsheet ends at 760-04-02, or at least the one I can find ends there. The As Built on my 2024 Flash includes 760-04-03 through 760-04-06. Is there a spreadsheet somewhere that defines those lines?

Most recommend NOT using 1 pedal in winter conditions, and driving in normal model.

We have access others dont.

Livinitup only shares what he wants to share. Plus sheets can change as new info comes available and we dont update the sheets all the time because its not anything people need or care about.

I made the change with FORScan. I didn’t get the desired result - Slippery Mode didn’t appear as a choice. Is there anything else I need to do with the change for it to be effective - reset/calibrate, etc.? Or is it just a no-go with the 2024 ABS module? (I updated all modules with FDRS a while back and there are no updates available, so I’m running the latest available 2024 PCM software.)

If it didnt populate then it isnt there.

If the ABS change was made and didnt show then the ABS module is not programmed for it. These are different abs modules that what the 25 Lightnings have.

Yea, hard pass driving 1PD in slippery conditions. The one thing they tell you not to do when sliding is stomp on the brake and letting go of the gas pedal achieves exactly this. I go as far as turning off 1PD during heavy rain incase I encounter hydroplaning.

Would not the anti-lock braking function take care of any excessive braking going on by regeneration? What other automatic steering & braking functions might help in poor traction situations? Is going slow and leaving plenty of car lengths the only options?

Yes.

AdvanceTrac electronic stability control limits torque in slippery driving conditions. With 775 lb-ft it probably limits torque in non-slippery conditions. It's seemless and you have no idea it's doing anything unless you hold your traction control button for 10 seconds to turn it off.

Is going slow and leaving plenty of car lengths the only options?
Slow and smooth is your best option in ANY vehicle. No software can defeat physics.
