My invite said the “trial” ends this summer. So I suspect Ford is actively working on a path to integrate Canopy’s software into our existing hardware.

That would make sense why they only want beta testers for that short of a time and as Canopy’s website shows the subscription portion is ending so likely that means the LTE agreements as well. So maybe Ford is planning on using the native service instead or bundling it as a connected service.

Like others have mentioned my bed is mostly covered either by the bed tent or the tonneau , so the need for a bed only camera is basically not huge. If it was “360” like my M3 I would be more interested. Also not a fan of the glass mount approach when I already have a bed camera.
I signed up but I am also not interested in sticking a camera on the sliding window, If it's a replacement to the OEM one, meaning it goes right into the back cab light then I am all in.

I got the invite as well. But I found several sources (including one here) that shows it to be a stickon - like @carys98 described above. I appreciated the invite but passed. Hopefully they are coming out with something smaller and more integrated but I don't want to be stuck with the gen 1 solution.

Ford bought them in September 2024...

I didn’t word my post well. I know they bought them, I was just speculating about their reasons. I don’t think Ford wants to be in the accessory business so Canopy probably has some image processing technology that they are after.

The company has an install video on YouTube. The camera bar shown looks like it's big enough to support multiple cameras, which would be nice if they would also have a front-facing camera and I would definitely be part of the trial then.

Not sure this is the test unit.

I got the invite and accepted. Just signed a participation agreement, so I'll be giving it a whirl.

After reading the feedback here, I read the invite email. I'm not interested for reasons others note. Maybe they are looking at selling as a 3rd party, but just put some R&D into the T3 and move forward. integrate like Tesla has and be done with it. I'm not adding anything else from Ford on my truck.

Tesla started with cameras for the their driving purposes. Then they created recording and sentry and the owner access to download files. Then they gave you access to view the sentry clips right from the car. Then they added remote viewing of the cameras from your app and recently they just added being able to save/download the clip right to your phone.

Here we are in 2025 and Ford paid money to buy a company with a clunky install and integration and don't even know what they want to do with it.

yeah I don't understand how no one else but Tesla (and maybe Rivian) can get camera sentry software working properly, it's one of the sole reasons I'd consider a Tesla

I just got my camera kit. How do we make an account? The link just opens the app and no option on website to make an account either.

I’ve been emailing them about it. Got the mail and the link just opens the app. Can’t make an account in the app. No option to. Only login.

Same problem here. after installing the app. There was no sign-up button only login. Then I went back to the email and started clicking everything that would let me, then I was able to get to a sign-up page.

I have had the flu, but just got around to installing the camera over last weekend. They performed a firmware update today and we tested by simply waving our hands inside the bed and it triggered an alert, and I was able to download the video from the app.

I'm very happy to see that Ford is possibly pursuing putting full-time cameras on their vehicles. I noticed on the unit there is another unused Port for what I guess would be a second camera, maybe you could run a 2nd camera to the front.
