CCS1 Adapter to NACS - Canada Specific - COME ON FORD :(

So after calling 3 ford dealerships in Canada and asking them to order the NACS to CCS1 for me with no success I was beginning to wonder what’s up and why this adapter is such a unicorn in Canada. Got a reply from Ford Canada today (pasted below) but seems like we are not going to get them north of the border anytime soon. On to amazon for some non-official adapters I guess.

I thought from the title that there was a specific adapter for Canada different from the US-probably just the way my brain works. I believe A2Z is a Canadian company. I purchased my adapter from them and it is seems to be as good or better than the one from Ford. I do kind of like the fact that the one from Ford does have the Ford logo on it so that’s pretty cool but all I care about really is that it works or not and it does work well!

A2z or Lectron are good alternatives but if you want the Ford one you might have to wait or order online and wait. I googled the sku from ford and a bunch of places in Canada pop up with possible stock of it.

I went to a couple of dealers who said they had “stock” but after calling them a talking to their parts departments it was clear they didnt. Frustrating.

I waited forever for mine and it was worth it because it was "free".
Tesla stations are super expensive to use though in Ontario so it wasn't a necessity and will barely get used over the life of the vehicle. It was handy the 6 times I used it successfully so far. The only problem with using a tesla station is all the other teslas at it. Or it's been torched by vandals.

I wouldn't worry with A2z or Lectron, enough people here use them all the time, Lectron even made them for Ford.
Search the forums and you'll get a good overview of them.

But ya, buy the one from the guy in Winnipeg! Good deal!

The free adapters had to be reserved through an online system a long time ago now. Canada was included but they took longer to reach Canadian customers, they went out just before they finished shipping the american ones. I think everyone who was going to get one has by now.

Now, once they put a nacs port on the truck, those owners will need a ccs to nacs so they can use all the other chargers instead of getting hosed at the dispenser.

I will give another recommendation for the A2Z Typhoon Pro adapter. Worked perfectly for me at every Tesla SuperCharger I have used.
