FYI, this was driving me nuts....

If you are hearing a creaking/rubbing noise that seems to come from the back, especially when driving slowly or while flexing the body over bumps, there is a high chance that it's the sunroof creaking where the rubber seals meat the body opening.

The fix from FORD is described in this TSB and it works.

https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10160817-0001.pdf#:~:text=Issue: Some 2015-2019 F-150 vehicles may exhibit, roof opening panel seal and the body

In my case, the source of the noise was from the fixed back panel and cleaning the junk between the panel rubber seal and the body fixed the noise.

Some people also squirt some kind of rubber-safe lubricant between the seal and the body, but I just cleaned it out with alcohol and a towel wrapped credit card.

One way to test if the pano roof is the possible source of the noise is to push up, from inside the cab, on the front and back panels around the edges. You'll notice that you can move the glass a little, and if it creaks, then that's the source of your noise. In my case, the worst noises came from the fixed panel back edge (closest to the truck bed), middle of the cabin.

Thanks for this. This seems like good maintenance procedure to do once in awhile for prevention.
Love having pano roof in my vehicles but they suck when they start to make noise.

These trucks are so quiet that even little noises become super annoying.

Yesterday we had a lot of rain after the snow storm passed, plenty of water beads all over the frunk, roof and bed cover, I parked in the garage while still damp, overnight the water had not yet frozen as of 7:00 am when I rolled out.

By the time we were done with grocery shopping at 7:30, with temp's in the low 20's, the beads had frozen and the pano roof was very creaky on he ride home, it'll clear up once we have more mild temp's
