I would try one pedal drive in a heartbeat if I didn't also regularly drive a gasser. I think it would be difficult going back and forth from 1 vehicle to the other

Coming from a Tesla I was used to 1 pedal. Not much to learn. Also pretty predictable in the snow to
I also drive a ICE vehicle too and I have no problem going back to 2 pedal at all

I do use 1 pedal when I go to the mountains and I have a long descent.
That's something I was wondering about over the weekend when I was driving my ICE Dodge down a moderately steep crappy dirt road from a radio site. In the Dodge I had the transfer case in 4x4 low and the transmission in 2nd gear. I spent more time on the gas pedal than the brake (what I intended). How does this equate to an electric drive that has no transfer case with a low range, and of course regen vs engine braking? I would assume I would be riding the brake pedal (presumably all or mostly actually regen).

With 1 pedal you don’t need to touch the brakes. You’re basically on regen all the way down. As you push the accelerator the regen reduces and you speed up and then when you back off the pedal it slows you down.

I tried it…it’s also why I don’t drive the truck in Sport mode - it feels like 1PD turns on and while the throttle response is certainly quicker, I like the “coasting” feeling when I am on flatter surfaces.

I drive a lot of rental cars. Try to keep everything as much the same as possible. Too old to change.

I find it annoying to drive. I see others mentioned the transition between vehicles, which is also valid, but I just find that type of driving super annoying.

This dog is too old to learn new tricks.
2 pedal on the Lightning works great and is efficient. See no advantage in learning yet another way to drive.

I've had my Lariat ER for 21 months to this day exactly. I drove 1PD exclusively for for almost 1.5 years. I always put it in 2PD when on longer road trips on the highway. About last fall, I just started leaving it in 2PD because I love the coasting affect without having to feather the accelerator much. The last couple months, I just leave it in Sport mode 2PD.

Just like others have said, I've gotten pretty damn good at using almost 100 percent regen in 2PD mode at almost every stop. I thought I'd never leave 1PD, but 2PD is a little more versatile, imo.

I really tried one pedal.. I do a lot of highway stop and go driving. I noticed the brake lights come on a lot more often makes it look like I am constantly on the brake. Plus in stop and go coasting is easier than trying to feather the pedal.

I am more than willing to admit I may not be doing it right but I just cant get used to it. Every so Often I tried again but I give up. I am more comfortable with the normal way..

Keeping in mind that I do not have a Lightning yet, so have never had the opportunity to drive a vehicle with 1 pedal mode. However once I do, I will drive multiple vehicles that are all 2 pedal vehicles. In an emergency I don't want to have to think which vehicle I'm in and how to panic stop.
I have multiple vehicles - my lightning only 1 pedal

Took me about 3 days and it was second nature and so are my 2 pedal vehicles. Probably like being fluent in multiple languages. You will be fine either way IMO.

I love timing it so that I am coming to a stop just a couple of feet from the vehicle in front of me. Then I get the reward stating that I got 100% regen of that stop. Simple little pleasures.
I get the same 100% using the brake in two pedal. Not sure where I read it but if you slow down efficiently (1PD or 2PD), the friction brakes don't apply until under 5 mph.

I have a tight garage and driveway that takes several forwards/stops/backs at precise speed. I use "one-pedal" but it's the brake pedal! As I modulate the brake I can precisely control my speed getting in and out of the garage.

Once you come to one of those intermediate stops, I find it a lot more precise to get going slowly again by releasing the brake than pushing the accelerator.

Same thing with auto-hold. Love the concept and use it sometimes but it is annoying when parking my truck.

While 1 pedal and 2 pedal can both achieve the exact same efficiency, it is far easier to be efficient on the highway with 2 pedal, because of coasting when you let up off the throttle. I have tested this over an over. I don't have the fortitude to hold my foot at the exact same position for that long, and also adaptive cruise is a lot smoother in 2 pedal mode.
As others have pointed out, 2 pedal is also superior for trying to inch forward when parking.
I prefer the one pedal driving style, and it is great in bumper to bumper traffic, but I rarely ever use it for the reasons noted above.
