I had stubbornly and stupidly thought it was coming from the dashboard/A Pillar Interface. I should have listened to you two. I had not driven the vehicle for the last 10 days of the year, and it was getting really annoying this past week.

I used my plastic putty knife, popped open that panel on the passenger side of the dash that includes an HVAC vent to the passenger side front window. My clips were all plastic. I took a Q Tip and some Vaseline petrolatum jelly, swabbed the clips on the part and the receptacles for the clips, and the creaking noise is gone.

Now the truck is too quiet.

Oh lawdy, the creak is back with a vengeance. Worse than before. I give up. I have a service appointment Monday for the three "recall" issues, cracked tail light etc, and I will let them figure it out.

My truck just developed this creak/rattle in the passenger side A pillar location. I'll check that plastic piece. Otherwise will have the dealership look at it when I take it in for the next recall appointment in a week or two... So this seems to be a common issue.

Dealer took care of mine on Tuesday. It was quiet for a day. Then a little noisier, and now back to the old loud creak. They ordered me a new plastic triangle piece on the side of the dashboard. In the meantime, I just wrapped the clips in teflon tape and the front of the piece that dovetails against the metal bolts. Will see later if that stops the creaking. Probably due to friction between two hard plastic surfaces.

Yeah, I popped mine off of there and tweaked the clips a bit to see if I could get a tighter fit. But nope. It’s definitely rubbing against the dash plastic. I might try some teflon dry lube, but don’t want to just add crap to the problem.

Teflon tape worked for 10 minutes, LOL, and back to the creak. Even my better half, who was not previously bothered by the creak, said that it was annoying.

Absolutely cannot stand creaking. Haven't heard any yet from mine except for where my left knee occasionally rests on the door panel trim piece.

I did notice when doing my speaker installs that the tweeters in the A-Pillar seemed odd. One side had foam surround and the other didn't.

Ha, ha on foam surround. Not to derail my own thread, but I had a Ford Maverick Lariat Pickup that I could not unload quickly enough. Road noise was horrific, and they put the bluetooth microphone in the driver side A-pillar, and people complained that it sounded like I was speaking from a wind tunnel when using the blue tooth for phone. I had to stuff several bullet microphone foam pieces behind the microphone to quiet it down.

Went at it with a second layer of teflon tape on the clips, and then put soft velcro around edges of triangular part. Creak is back and as loud as ever. So I took the triangular part completely off and drove around, and the creak is still happening. Will call the dealer.

Not wanting to give up, I found the post below on the ICE F150 forums and the YouTube Video.

I tightened the 7mm lower bolt behind the triangular piece of plastic adjacent to the side view mirror, and it seems to have done the trick. Will see if it holds. Also wrapped all the clips in plumber teflon tape.

This was another fail, and the creaking came back.

I looked closely at everything near the A-pillar and windshield interface, inside and outside. I pushed on the front fender where it meets the A pillar. It produced the creaking noise. Had the wife sit in the car as I pushed and released the fender at the A pillar, and she confirmed that was the noise. So I wedged a folded up piece of Gorilla tape (orange in picture) between the A pillar and the fender. Pushed the fender up against the A pillar, and no creak. Took the truck on a decent drive and no creak. I think I finally cracked the code.

Not going to drive around with that tape wedged as shown in picture.

Have to go to the dealer for the latest 23B70 Battery monitor sensor software update, and will have the dealer look at this.

I've had this problem since driving off the lot. Dealer "fixed" it last week, but was only quiet for 30 minutes before coming back more annoying than ever. The vent trim is super loose compared to the driver side. I've tried wedging cardboard in all the cracks, but nothing works.

I have the same "creaking" noise in my 23' Lariat ER. I've taken it to the dealer and they say there's nothing they can do.

See my post immediately above. This was driving me absolutely nuts. In a previous life, I was an engineer in a factory, and I am a hound dog when it comes to troubleshooting. Try pressing back and forth against the front fender just below the junction at he A-pillar on the passenger side. You can see where I have an orange wad of Gorilla tape wedged there.

Funny thing, the tape slipped out a bit, and the noise came back. I gently pulled the fender back and shoved the tape back down in the gap (without any tools), and the noise disappeared again. Hopefully, this is it for you. I spent a lot of time on the vent trim with absolutely no luck.

Please post to see if this is it. Sometimes the dealer service is quite worthless in these situations.

See my post immediately above. This was driving me absolutely nuts. In a previous life, I was an engineer in a factory, and I am a hound dog when it comes to troubleshooting. Try pressing back and forth against the front fender just below the junction at he A-pillar on the passenger side. You can see where I have an orange wad of Gorilla tape wedged there.

Funny thing, the tape slipped out a bit, and the noise came back. I gently pulled the fender back and shoved the tape back down in the gap (without any tools), and the noise disappeared again. Hopefully, this is it for you. I spent a lot of time on the vent trim with absolutely no luck.
