The Warranty for the Truck's battery emphasizes following page 196 of the owner's manual.

Page 196 states it is even more important to limit DC fast charging the standard range battery to preserve it's health.

I assume the same pouch cells are used in both the Extended and Standard range packs, but there are more cells in the ER and they are wired in a different pattern, correct?

What is it about how the Standard Range battery is wired that increases it's risk to DC charging??

The actual quote is:

Frequent use of DC charging could result in reducing your battery's efficiency and lifespan. This is more pronounced on the standard range battery pack versus the extended range battery pack.

It's extremely vague.

If it's the same pouch cells, then the biggest potential difference could be the C-Rate.

At the usable sizes of 98kWh and 131kWh, and official charge rates of 120kW and 150kW, the C-rates are : 1.224 and 1.145.

At the real life max charge rates of ~160kW (SR) and ~172kW (ER), the C-rates are: 1.63 and 1.31.

So, it could just be that Ford is pushing the SR battery harder. The C-rates for both official and real-life maximums are higher on the SR.

There are other considerations, like cooling, actual charging profile, etc., but Ford's vague warning about SR batteries degrading faster could just be based on the fact the C-rate is higher, which we can tell simply from the information we have. The other details would be a lot tougher to quantify.

Just fewer modules in series, reducing peak Voltage and KWH

It may have to do with the fact that battery life is warrantied in miles, not charge cycles. The SR has to endure more charge cycles to go the same miles as an ER. That creates the opportunity for more DCFCs for an SR, all else being equal.
