Counting via memory, I've seen at least 10 unique lightnings in the greater Austin, TX area in the last year. I always try to wave and get their attention with mixed results.

In my area (696/75 junction around Detroit Zoo) there's another Lightning on my street (one of them uppity Platinums that never acknowledges the existence of us regulars) and I've seen one or two more in the general vicinity, so not a whole lot.

In fact, I see a lot more Rivians than I see Lightnings.

Central Coast of CA…only a handful…way less than I expected. I see WAY more Rivians (both R1T and R1S) around. I wave when I see a fellow Lightning…about 50/50 on getting a response.
A local friend of mine just bought a Lightning…so there is one more around.

Are you in a Lightning desert? Or do you see us all around you?

I live in a small town that acts as a business and retail center for a larger rural area that includes a few villages/smaller towns. With only a few thousand residents in the town, I expected to be the lone electric pickup in the area. But nope! I am now aware of at least 5 of us in the local community. Kick in a couple of Rivians and probably soon a few Cybertrucks and we have a healthy community of electric high-riders. What is it like where you live?

Also, if you see a Lightning come along, do you acknowledge it? A light flick? A subtle wave? Or do you rip along with nary a nod?
I’m in Seattle. I see maybe one every time I drive. It’s not super common but it’s not a desert. I don’t do any special acknowledgement. I also have a 65 Mustang and do plenty of waving at people in that because I get non stop thumbs up. 😂😂

I live about 30 minutes outside Pittsburgh and since I got my Lightning back last October, I've maybe seen a total of 10 Lightnings that weren't at a dealership. I've seen a couple work trucks, a Platinum at Walmart (I posted about it previously)
https://www.f150lightningforum.com/...-silver-platinum-spotted-in-delmont-pa.16796/

One that seems to frequent a local golf course parking lot in Penn Hills and one that seems to frequent the shopping areas near Monroeville.

I try to wave and use my pedestrian bell to get their attention, but the drivers usually seem totally wrapped up in their own world and consumed by their own life, which is fine.

I have seen maybe five R1Ts and only one R1S in the wild. I have been stopped or gotten looks or stares while driving and a couple of comments/questions at a red light, but still far less attention than I'm used to getting when driving my 79 Continental.

Very high density near me...at the Ford dealership! ;) There are 5 lined up by the freeway among a whole lot of other vehicles not moving right now.

Relatively small town on eastern NC. Never saw a Lightning in town until the day I bought one. I swear someone else a few blocks away got one the same day. Made me happy and sad at the same time.

I'm in Hot Springs AR. definitely a Lightning desert. we have one Ford dealer and he's sold maybe 10 Lightnings (I haven't asked for a tally since early summer) but all but one were out of town. my guess is that our entire state only has 15-20 Lightnings so a desert for sure.

I’ve seen a dozen or fewer in Los Angeles in the last year. I enjoy feeling like the coolest kid around as well as the occasional bro thumbs-up when I see another one.

I live in a small county in South Central KY with around 9,000 total residents. The largest town has a population of around 1,600. There are two Lightnings here, that I know of, mine and one other.

I live in The Hamptons in New York and I see at least 10 different lightnings every single day . Way more lightnings than Rivians as well . They are a dime a dozen now. Which is pretty cool .

2 here on the peninsula. Both are Lariats ER. About 1/15 square miles. If you included the entire county that’d be 1/500 square miles. Or one per 13,000 residents. Ride sharing is not working out.

In the North Bay Area, I rarely see Lightnings, probably see Rivians on a 10:1 basis. I don't get it. It may be that the ag folks (think spoiled grape juice) are actually not spending as much time on the public roads, ie actually using them as trucks. Tesla is the #1 selling car in CA, at least recently, and it shows. Those things are everywhere.

On a trip to SoCal and another to Oregon I saw a surprising number of Polestars at the DCFC chargers. I'm probably just not noticing them on the road on a daily basis, they blend in.
