I hadn’t considered that they’d roll out a manual update for BC. Makes sense. Thanks.
I don't know if we could consider this an OTA as most of us would think, but it did get shot down from the mothership after all the FDRS updates I did so I'll take it as a win.

I think it’s a great sign, even if it were material that predated the advent of the OTA rollouts. You were dead in the water. Now you’re not.

Anyone else notice that after all the updates are done, that the green arrows for your blinkers are in a different spot? Other than that, BS seems to be working pretty good on the highway from my commute! Hands free and 28 on the highway ?

Yeah mine moved, don't think I'm a fan of them in the far corners honestly.

My power running boards are not moving anymore either. I did the PMI as both original and new, unplugged the battery for a few hours and tried again, even tried unplugging the running boards and completely unplugging the DSM for some time and trying it all again. Nothing seems to work. When I unplugged the DSM tho, i did get a POWER RUNNING BOARD FAULT message on the IPC. Goes away once you plug it back in. I think side loading firmware is the only solution at this point as @Jesse-Infotainment mentioned. That or go play dumb at your local dealer, something I don't really wanna do.

EDIT: I got them back alive! I went into Forscan, DSM module, went to line 744-23-02 and changed **xx-xxxx to 00 (configured them to NOT present). Saved the changes. Then went and changed it back to 01 (as built) and saved it. They came back alive instantly!
So I believe the issue with our running boards is that when this updated it installed a new block to 744-23-02. Originally it was XXXX-XX and now it’s XXXX-XXXX-XX. May need Livinitup’s or Jesse Infotainment’s help to figure what this line needs to be because my running boards are working with the simple mod but I have lost my kick switch and approach walk up boards coming out. I have to double check 744-23-01 through 744-25-02. May need to look at a 22 build and see what those settings are as I’m sure they may have the new block etc.

So I will be starting the upgrades tomorrow morning. 2 things I'm not quite clear on.

1. Does the driver's door need to be open or closed...or does it not matter. I would hate to open or close it when I shouldn't.

2. Is there a definitive list of the proper order that updates should be applied. I've seen a couple of people post but if I recall they were not exactly the same. Just looking for some guiadance.

I have the same problems: kick switch and approach. I actual prefer for the lights to come on as I approach.. but the boards stay folded until I open the door. If I am working in the vicinity of my truck the stupid boards used to flop out every time I passed by.

But I do use the kick switch and would like to re-enable that.

Does the recent DSM update solve any or all of this?

The only time door position will matter is when you are rebooting after a USB update. Door closed and locked with keys far from the truck for 15-201 minutes.

order doesn’t really matter. If you pick one with a prerequisite the software will do them in the right order.

I experienced so many unintended approach induced board deployments that I had considered disabling them. (I putz in the barn where my cars are)

I decided to give the "delayed" setting a chance, although the description didn't exactly sound like a solution. Instead, I love it!

I still get an approach deployment when I actually want one, but if it was unintentional, they just stay there. No harm no foul. If I eventually leave the barn, at some point they fold back up, but I don't witness it.

I bet they last far longer with the huge decrease in activity? Lol

My kick switch works just fine, I never had any issues with it once I got the power of running boards to work again. Never tested approach detection as I have it always set to off.

Made it a couple of weeks with a fully updated fully functional Job1 Platinum Powerboost. And it's been such a pleasure to drive too!

Was sitting at the computer handling some emails and out of curiosity logged into FDRS.

A fresh Driver's Front Seat module update available. I don't even know if I want to go through the effort. Lol
Funny how time has changed once the mountain has been climbed once.

Now if it was the PCM or APIM I'd probably go straight to the barn and plug in. :)
