Man I always appreciate the tips, will be trying the battery disconnect trick (Ecoboost) tomorrow to see if it works!
That worked for me... keep it off for approx. 15mins, reconnect and put the charger on it.

Wow, patience is a virtue. I will be updating the doc with a few other things since FDRS has been upgraded to 31.6.2. I'm happy things finally came into play, I was also able to get the APIM updated even with the Persistent U3000:41 DTC (checksum failure) which was an issue and I believe that it was caused by a bad battery (was replaced at the dealer on Thursday) during the 2.3.0 OTA and never completed the update. Here's my success....

Good job!
Another success story by the people. :)

You know, I realize they don't know it, but we are doing dealerships AND their poor unequipped technicians a big favor. Lol
I told the service dept. on Thursday that despite them ordering a new APIM, I would get the module updated.... can't wait to see what they have to say. Gonna shove this down the tech's throat come Monday:

Have mercy on the tech. :)
You might need him for mechanical help some day. (He's been trained to change water pumps)
He never wanted to be a computer tech. And it's NOT his fault that Ford has a bumpy route to the new OTA model.

Actually, I'm going to give him some helpful ideas on what I learned about the process. Hopefully they can cancel the APIM order before it's too late.

In case anyone is interested:

IPC update takes 6.5 hours
TCU update via canbus takes 4.5 hours

Had I known the TCU was going to take that long I would not have started the update at 9pm last night. I was thinking 2 hours max.

Oh well at least it’s all updated now. Hopefully those DTCs will go away on their own.

I just knew you were a good fella. ?

You actually have an opportunity to garner considerable goodwill. Let him know that you now know how difficult it is to fix the issue FORD presented to you both. But that it's fixed and you don't want them to waste effort on a new APIM, since it's not a hardware issue, despite their conclusion.

Regardless, your truck is fixed!

I would drive around for a few days and go back and see if they cleared. If your license expires use FORScan to see if they still exist. Fortunately I didn't have an IPMA or IPC update and I'm assuming that those modules had been updated with the chip shortage since my truck sat for 6 months in a lot.

Funny thing is, a very good friend of mine assumed my APIM was shot as well, his ass I busted since he's a Master Tech! I love sharing knowledge so he will reap what I learned. I'm not a bad guy at all and have a huge heart...

Anyone know why sometimes not all modules show green? I can run a network scan and the green boxes change almost every time. This isn't my FDRS, but same idea. I usually only have 4-5 boxes green at a time.

Is your truck in the key on (no start/engine off) position?
Some modules need power to show up.

What sync version were you coming from? I'm just curious as if anyone from 20312_PRODUCT Rev 243 has had success. I'm stuck on the dang APIM update.

I had the prior one 21146_PRODUCT Revision 145. Suggestion, make sure your GWM is updated first, then disconnect your battery for approx. 15mins and leave the memory stick in the USB slot. Reconnect battery and charger/maintainer and you should see the update start again with the popup about "Do Not Remove USB", close it and the update should start again. Don't worry what FDRS shows... let me know if this helps

Im in the same boat as you 20312/243. No updates and USB update not taking. Got a Platinum Powerboost. Been trying for 2 weeks now to get the usb update to go without any success. Had one small GWM update with FDRS but it didn’t help.
