I am trying to enter the information for my charger installation on TurboTax and it is showing I get no credit for this. Anyone have any issues with this or know why it is not giving me the 30% credit?

There are income limitations. You might have made too much.

I was able to include this credit using TurboTax. You should see a message about why you cannot use it.

I found it impossible for myself to claim the charger credit the same year as the vehicle credit. This happened to me twice. As Rick says it uses AMT and calculates a tentative minimum tax value you must satisfy. When claiming the $7500 tax credit for the vehicle even with excess tax liability it seems to make this tentative minimum tax calculation fail. My wife and I filed separately for other reasons and she claimed the charger credit on hers and it worked. I gave her $100 of it 😉

Looks like that EV charger installation federal tax credit is limited for individuals to $1000, or 30% of an EVSE install of less than $3333. Need to calculate "tentative minimum tax" as part of filling out Form 8911, Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-8911 . The H&R Block tax program has that form 6251, Alternative Minimum Tax - Individuals, built in https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-6251 . I hope the 100A sub-panel I put in the garage for the 60A CB to the 48A EVSE, plus a 14-50R, and a 14-30R, is not unreasonable to state as part of the installation.
