Pretty sus AI response right there...
I was thinking when I read that post that that is exactly what AI would say! You beat me to it🤣😂🤣

Maybe Ford has learned from their past mistakes and it’s not going to promise us anything anymore, but perhaps surprise us at a later date? I personally would rather come out with new stuff and surprise my owners/customers like karaoke.😵💫

The Global Target Charge setting applies to all locations. With this software, saved locations do not have unique target charge settings, but still have unique Preferred Charge Time settings.

As for AC vs. DC, since Amps are not a commonly communicated value for DC charging (the vast majority of DC chargers don't advertise or display Amps) sticking to kW was done to avoid creating extra confusion.
Charge times don't do me any good. I want to charge higher at work (it's free) vs at home (not free). I know I'll never get the OTA for this (if it's even in the works) but on the 0.42% chance I do, is the global charge setting a toggle? Can one chose not to use it in favor of the current setup?

The truck knows how many Amps it is getting. I can see this via my ODB adapter. I don't understand why that value can't be displayed.

It should be!!! Really wish these enhancements brought to new model years would be shared with older Lightnings, but the trends for 2023, 2024 and now 2025 prove otherwise. Prove me wrong @Ford Motor Company
Maybe Ford is hoping for some that iPhone style upgrade fever ... got an old Lightning ? Oh how retro ! Throw that old junk out and get the NEW ONE !!!!!

good features but how many on this forum have 2025 Lightnings? oh, none because they just started shipping. This is a lightning owners forum not a prospective owners forum. that's what the main Ford website is for.

They are updating those features for 2025. Maybe some day they’ll trickle down to us ?

Global Target Charge removes location-specific target charge levels, with the goal to simplify these features significantly, make them more robust, and much easier to control. You also no longer have to charge at the location once before even being able to save. The biggest feedback on the previous system that required saved locations was it was too complicated.

@Ford Motor Company I'm not a fan of this change. Removing features is not a good thing. In order to get the same functionality, I would have to change that setting twice a day.

If what I'm hearing is accurate, I don't want it.

It would be nice if I didn’t need saved locations to make things work all the time, but I can see the value in having the option too.
It's not complicated to program this.

if ( location is saved ):
charge_limit = location->chargeLimit
else
charge_limit = global->chargeLimit

Doesn’t seem like a feature upgrade to me. Keep it.
