yes but the weird thing is this has never happened before on this truck. Previously I would get the sensors blocked warning and then that was the end of it.

It doesn’t appear you read my whole post. Did not happen last winter. I live in Canada too. The issue isn’t the sensors being blocked it’s the alerts that are happening every 10-20 seconds of objects while driving.
A thin layer of ice on the sensor makes the sensitivity go crazy so it think there are objects in range that aren't, it's worse than a full blockage. I've had all types of sensor malfunctions over the winter but haven't had the bad weather here yet to compare this year.

Also, the sensitivity and other programming may have been updated over time to account for other issues.

Yeah that’s what I was wondering - if an update had changed the sensitivity behavior. But yes I did check and there was a thin layer of ice so maybe just something I’d never had before last winter, although surprising given winter is like 8 months in Alberta.

I have not owned a F-150 ICE. Is the sensor issue different in the Lightning?

I had the backing up issue once before in a Costco parking lot with my RAM 1500. We thought we hit something it stopped so fast and hard. Checked and it seems a large wrapper was blowing around the parking lot. I thought, I hate it BUT it could have been a child playing.

I still hate it, but I do appreciate cars and trucks have it.

Northern Ontario here, winter sucks.

I have no mud flaps/splash guards and the shit builds up on the running board under the door very heavily.

Also, keeping the hood clean for frunk access is challenging at times.

Don't fold your mirrors if there is any snow/ice on the window/windowsill, it goes crunch, not much clearance.

Being a desert dweller that's something that would never have occurred to me. I'll have to tuck that tip away in case I ever find myself traveling north in the winter.

The truck is great in the snow though! The awd system is top notch and the heater keeps up at -30C. I've got the max tow just in case I'm in DFW in the summer again.

I have had the same problem with ice buildup on the rear bumper sensors on my GMC. it usually happens if the snow melts and drips water onto the sensors. when the water freezes it blocks the sensors causing the error messages start popping up.

I haven't driven the lightning in the snow yet as it was in the garage charging the other night when we got our first snow fall this year. Im glad to here that the truck is good in snow.

Couldn’t agree more. Handles way better in snow/ice than my old ICE F-150. If they can double the range for cold weather then I’d never even consider switching back to an ICE.
