If it makes you feel any better, I hold a lot of scorn toward Elon Musk but never toward Tesla owners*. At the end of the day it's one fewer ICE on the road, and one more EV on the road. Besides, how would I know if the owner bought used or new, or even when they bought it? Too much effort to be outraged over a person's buying habits when it's Tesla's CEO that's gone coo-coo.

*Except for cybertruck owners. Not scorn per se, but with their panels falling off I'm definitely avoiding them while on the road lol
I totally agree with you. I think a lot of Tesla owners didn't even know who Elon Musk was when they purchased their cars over a year ago. Everyone should certainly know by now however.

I'm really surprised some of you didn't/dont trade your Lightning in on a CT. Seems like you have more love for Tesler than Ford.
I mean, both companies were founded by Nazi sympathizers. Most people have forgiven Ford by this point but I'm not sure "love" is appropriate in any case.

After all that, it still outsold the F150 lightning. Last year.
I mean, it was all new vs a 3 year old model. Was it really a shocker to anyone?

What was a shocker was the Lightning outselling the CT in the 4th quarter..

Ok. I get the software being better, but I know people with Teslas and I don't see that the materials and workmanship is equal. I see some compromise in that area. Not a huge amount but it's still visible. Time will tell as to to longevity of the most recent models. After seeing hot the CT is constructed it's almost comical. And Elon was never good, even before he became Trump's BFF and co-president. I'll happily put up with less advanced software/updates and hope that Ford improves in this area.
First I must say Ford produced a winner with the Lightning. Thank you Ford.

I ALSO personally KNOW people with Teslas, ME! So my first hand personal experience with Tesla Workmanship is VERY POSITIVE. As far as Ford goes in the 70 new vehicles I’ve purchased I’ve used Lemon Law three times, twice with Ford trucks and once with GM for unresolved problems.

As far as fit and finish goes both of my 2 current 2023 Teslas were delivered perfect paint and body panel alignment. I did have one issue with my wife’s Y 12 hours after taking delivery. I adjusted the steering wheel position and the car shut down. Tesla sent a tow truck one hour after placing a service request via the app on a Sunday afternoon and towed it to the nearest service center. It was fixed the following morning by 10am Monday due to a connector not properly seated in the steering column. Typical infant mortality.

The Teslas have spartan interiors, but seat comfort is better than any Ford Truck I’ve owned. Software updates are frequent, just today I get one.

I did have 2 issues early one with my Teslas. Un-commanded windshield wiper activity and phantom braking, which both were resolved with software updates.

When software updates are pushed they come with detailed explanation. See below from today’s update.

I feel the reason CT Outsells the Lightning is because they don't want a Pick Up truck. Cybertruck buyers want the unique look and the ability to stand out when driving the CT. Ford Lightning owners like me want t truck that does truck things like Home Depot runs etc.. I've NEVER seen an CT at HD. Personally I also don't want to stand out and drive a vehicle that shouts "HEY! LOOK AT ME"

Ford also doesn't do a good of marketing the Lightning. Every day I see TV advertisements for the GM EV Pickup trucks.
Yes, apples and oranges as far as customer needs and wants are concern and with capability, yet people still like to compare their trucks with a CT. as if they don't understand they are different.

Seems like a little fear mongering, maybe someone that didn’t read the bold not fine print of standard range.

Pumping the stock of Tesla isn’t new, and frankly I’m not shocked as ford is the only real car maker that will hold up in the ev market thus far. I say real because rivian and Tesla don’t make anything other than evs but they’re made 100% in the US, with ford being in the 70s. So when the tariffs come, ford is better positioned. The lightning, so far is the only really unchanged vehicle in the EV market, have you seen the Silverado? It’s more like an avalanche, but the range leaves something to be desired for us as lightning owners. I doubt we’d have some of these conversations with 400+ miles of range. It’s coming, but just not yet.
