Yesterday I had about 30 miles to get home and 90 miles of "charge" left. It was more than enough charge to get home. My crazy app constantly tried to reroute me about 80 miles out of the way (charge station was 40 miles off the highway) as opposed to just staying on the interstate. At every exit it wanted me to divert. Finally when I was 15 miles from home it finally quit trying to reroute me and I got home with about 60 miles charge (as expected).

I never tried stopping the truck and starting over but I canceled the trip several times and added my destination and it still insisted I go charge. Has anyone else experienced this craziness?

I had that happen once in my Mach-E. I’ve run that same route several times since then with a similar SoC and it never happened again.

Ford's not the only software that has these types of un-common sense 'glitches'... the model 3 Tesla that I drove from GA to SanAntonio had the same issue - wanted me to 'divert' off I20 toward some off-interstate small town, versus staying on the interstate to the next Supercharge, and TOWARD my destination, which was another Supercharger well within reach...

by the way, this was also the same trip where I saw a Tesla model 3 being flat-bedded on a roll-off from the interstate to the Supercharger station next to me... strange sight, but I guess it worked. He still had enough power to back the car down, and off, in reverse, to the parking space. I suppose some new owner got so paranoid about not having enough power to get to the exit that they called Tesla 'emergency towing service' to get it there instead.

Another odd thing is I arrived with 32% battery (ext battery) but only an estimated 60 miles... Highway driving at about 70 mph I consistently get about about 70% of Fords estimates.

OK, I should have done this before my last reply. I just scheduled a 58 mile trip that I know passes several chargers and the app gets me there with 8% battery and no charging. App was apparently possessed last night. Thanks all for the feedback.

I have all three charging options on. So...I just scheduled the same 58 mile trip as above that I know passes several chargers using the Nav map and that system insists I leave the highway drive almost 30 extra miles out of the way to charge before my destination (and adds an hour to the trip). Oh well. If the system gets back to normal I'll post.

Ah, it's probably giving the "fastest" route then. In any case, just another reason to not blindly follow gps instructions, like the countless fools who have driven into rivers and lakes over the years.

When I select “Fastest Route” it looks like it ignores charge times and will sent me to a Ford dealers for 13 hours of slow charging.
Planing a trip from Bend OR to Reno NV.

I reset my driving history and the system is back "happy". Before that my 83% charge was showing 170 miles or so. Thanks for all the comments.

Charging from 80-100 takes a tremendous amount of time as the charging rate is dramatically reduced. I wonder if you would have a faster overall trip time if you only charged to 80% at the EA station. Probably would only take maybe 30-40 minutes to get to 80%, and then maybe another 10 minutes at the next stop to get you enough to reach your destination. ABRP has tons of options to manipulate SoC levels at different stops, or set defaults for the entire trip.
