Soliciting opinions on at home chargers. I'm the proud owner of a new 2023 Lariat ER, so I've got a Charge Station Pro coming in the mail. But my electrical provider provides a decent rebate for a ChargePoint or similar, plus ongoing savings (up to $50 a year). I've got an existing NEMA 6-50 in my garage that I could plug into without additional electrical, so for a couple hundred dollars I can get my level 2 charger up and running with additional savings. Any reason not to go this route?

You already paid for the Ford charger but if you get a smoking deal on something else then go for it.

I don't think the fcsp has much resale value though as a lot of people went a similar route or had an evse already or didn't want to wait for Sunrun.

The one advantage for us Canadians was that our fcsp came before the trucks. I installed mine on a 60a circuit and it's worked really well.

You will only be able to utilize 40amps with that outlet, and will have to set that inside the unit to lock that.

I sold mine for $1,000. My JuiceBox 48 was $615 with tax, less $500 rebate from utility, less 30% tax credit. Cost under $100 to add a 2nd one too.

I had the electrician put the FCSP in with the 100 amp breaker and wiring for 80 amps. It sounded like a good idea, not knowing much about EVs and thinking I needed the higher power for the big battery. But since I have had it installed I turned it down to 60 amps and even that is faster than I need to charge most times. I may turn it down to 48 amps, but I keep having problems with the FCSP disconnecting from my network and not being able to discover it easily. It does work without being connected to my network.

I am very happy with my Chargepoint - set up with my utility, so I get discounted pricing and the off-peak scheduling was seamless between Chargepoint and Green Mountain Power.

You might consider plugging in the Chargepoint unit to start, and if 40 amps works for you then you are done. If you need faster charging times, you can explore upgrading the circuit and hard-wiring.

FYI it is very simple to remove the plug cable and hardwire the Chargepoint HCS-50. IIRC no tools required.

I had the same network disconnect problems as Thunder1809. I called Ford and they had me run a few tests while I was on the phone. The disconnect problems did not go away. After a couple of weeks I was notified that they were shipping me a new FCSP unit. The new unit was installed and has remained connected for the last two months without any problems at all. The original FCSP was installed in Sept 2022. The replacement unit was built in 2023 and probably has updated wifi electronics/firmware.
