Hello all. 2024 Flash. Took a 1000- mile road trip this weekend. Truck performed great! when I arrived home, I plugged in my Ford level 2 charger. I plugged in at 18 percent and set the charge to 90 percent. While checking my app i noticed that as the miles added climbed the kw added did not keep pace. For example, I added over 100 miles and the kw added only reached 15 and stopped. After a few hours the kw was still showing 15. I unplugged, set the charge to 90 percent again. This time it seemed to work correctly. However, this morning when I started the truck the GOM said I had 90 percent battery and only 149 miles of range. Just before the trip I charged at home to 100 percent and the range said 335 miles. I know temps can affect this, but these numbers are way off. 90 percent should be well over 200 miles. Anyone else experience this?

Ignore the miles and miles added. In FordPass you can see current charge rate in kw.

GOM usually takes into account your previous driving experience. How was that 1000 miles trip? Lots of highway or elevation? What was your energy consumption like for the entire trip? Below 2 miles/kwh?

There was elevation change of about 600 feet. I drove from Baton Rouge to Birmingham and averaged 2.0 miles per kwh on the way up and 1.7 on the return. Lots of wind and a 30-minute thunderstorm with heavy rain on the return leg.

I have driven that route a few times with my former ICE F150 and yes you have some elevation particularly in AL. Depending if you go through Montgomery (I65) or I20. How many times did you stop to charge on the way?
I would say the wind is a big factor in your range. I don't know if your truck is stock or levelled + wheels but it also makes a difference.

Stopped twice to charge on the way up and back. no problems whatsoever on the trip. Not until I arrived at home to charge did things go wonky.

This happened to me as well on my Saturday bulk charging session, though the instantaneous report was not accurate, the final permanent charging report was accurate.

Then on Sunday I did a final end of week top up only 7%, the active session screen was accurately reporting and matched the final end of session report after unplugging.

This is likely more buggy issues with the Fordpass or the Ford cloud, as long as you're getting the energy, not to worry, someday the MoCo will get all its ducks in a row .... maybe!?

I would agree that the the numbers don't update regularly or rationally during a charge. The percentage and charge rate seem to update reliably, but charge added and miles added are a guess. In other words, don't worry about it.

The GOM is now using some history to help it calculate. To get it to show 320 again, reset your driving history or charge to 100%. I believe that full charge will get it to show the 320.

Use what it is showing now as that is more realistic.

What a nutty system. I just plugged in again. The GOM said 89 percent and 139 miles of range. 2 minutes later.
Gom says 90 percent and 272 miles.
Smh...

You hit the Magic 90% threshold, well documented from old posts.
