Ok, now we're getting somewhere, because the ford pro 80 amp charger has the fast charging port and can charge at a higher rate. The Grizzl-e Ultimate 80 amp does not.

Ford confuses things by how they use the CCS connector. The FCSP still only uses the top (j1772) portion to supply AC power instead of the bottom DC pins to supply power to the truck so you're still imited. The only time the DC pins are used are if you have the home integration system to power your house and then power is transferred from the truck back to your hose over those pins. This also makes things rather inconvenient if someone comes over with Tesla or one of the newer EVs with native NACs connector as they won't be able to charge. IMHO the FCSP is in forced obsolescence as there's no future for it going forward unless Ford or another supplier provides a NACs connector to replace the current one.

ok, I guess. it really does make sense to me why Ford would build a 80 amp charger and it not be available for 2024 Lighting customers. Then tell your customers you would install it their home for free, and only provide 48 amps, but I'm not surprised.

Industry-standard CCS1 Charge Cord connector which is compatible with all Ford and many other manufacturer's all-electric vehicles.

Provides level 2 charging capability.

Provides up to 80 amps *

Works with the F-150 Lightning and the Home Integration System to provide Home Backup Power to your home during an outage.

Ford’s recommended installer is Qmerit. Click here .

*Note: The F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E charging speed is limited to the capability of the vehicle's onboard charger: 2024 Mustang Mach-E, 2024 F-150 Lightning Extended and Standard Range: 48A (11.5 kW).

I guess i should have read the note, it says it right there. 48 amp maximum.

Ford has done a lot of questionable things!

Many of us suspect Ford has a warehouse full of these or a minimum order from the manufacturer that they haven't moved yet. The reason they have a surplus is they haven't sold near the number of Extended Range Lightnings as they forecast 3 years ago.

They really should be giving away their 48A charger.
