FordPass V5.5.0 on iOS 18. I noticed today that 19% of my phones battery was consumed by FordPass. I do have PAAK phone as a key enabled and I did drive over an hour today.

But what in the world was FordPass doing in the background activity that consumed 19% of an iPhone 15 Pro Max battery?! 55 Minutes of logged background activity. Even though I have PAAK enabled, I had my key fob with me today.

The 10 day look-back stats are even more baffling. @Ford Motor Company this is unacceptable. It’s also worrisome how much tracking you’re doing with the FordPass application. Clearly invasive and unnecessary.

The battery usage is reporting percentage of the percentage of battery used.

so ford app used 19% of however much battery you used during the interval.

mine is only showing 2%, and I average maybe 50% of the iPhone battery a day. So 2% of 50% is 1% of a full battery charge per day.

If your total iPhone battery use per day is very low, the ford app probably shows using a higher percentage of what was used.

Thanks for the statistical clarification | Re: percentage of a percentage during the interval of use.

I am still shocked that it was the highest usage app of the day in terms of battery consumption. That seems very inefficient.

1% for me. I use my phone regularly for other things so maybe it is just relative to how much you use other apps?

I turn off apps I am not interacting with completely to minimize battery drain on the cell phone.
But I switched to using a tablet with the lightning instead of a smart phone - easier to read without my glasses on. I turn the tablet off completely when not using it for whatever, and leave the cell phone on for other things, like calls and texts from family, turning off whatever background tasks aren't really needed.
