FordPass Update - Dark Mode/New Authorization

Hi F-150 Lightning Owners –

We’ve rolled out the newly designed FordPass® app to help you better manage your vehicle remotely, and we are continuing to deliver new enhancements! We wanted to let you know about the most recent updates – ‘Dark Mode’ and a new way to invite additional drivers to access your vehicle!

‘Dark Mode’: Ford customers with iOS devices will enjoy a sleek, new visual experience in the FordPass app called ‘Dark Mode’. The app’s interface can switch to a dark color scheme, using dark grays, blacks and muted colors for the background and text.

New Authorization: Ford customers using FordPass can now invite additional drivers such as friends and family to access their vehicle straight from the app for a more seamless experience. Previously, friends and family had to request access. Once friends and family have access, they can lock/unlock the vehicle, start the vehicle and view fuel/battery levels. Here is what you need to know:  

To invite a new user to access your vehicle:

1. Open the FordPass app and tap Settings on the home screen
2. Tap Vehicle Access
3. Tap Invite at the top of the Vehicle Access page
4. Enter the new user’s email address and send the invite

For the friend/family receiving the invite, they just have to:

1. Download FordPass mobile app
2. Create an account with the same email that the invitation was sent to
3. Tap “Accept Invitation” in the invitation email

In Android, the phone OS has [Settings> Display ] for a dark theme which the Fordpass appears with darker tones, not all apps honor this display mode, but Android has for some time, maybe iOs users have a similar functionality ?

Same for IOS phones. It is a global setting, not individual app.

Settings - Display & Brightness - then select Dark setting options.

PAAK Should be standard and just a software update anyway.

On iPhone or iPad you can also set up the light/dark button in the upper right corner pull down to open control center. Tap the plus sign to add the controls you want!

Thanks, Brian. In my FordPass app, all I have ever had (since I bought in December) is dark mode. Is there a choice? I don't have any settings other than automatic updates.

When are you going to enable pet mode and have it available on FordPass as well so that we could monitor and keep our fur babies safe in the car thanks again

PAAK Should be standard and just a software update anyway.

I know. It just doesn’t work. Think a module in the vehicle is not working or something.
I took it to a dealership last year and they worked on it for two weeks and couldn’t get it to activate a phone as a key.
I might try again at a different dealership this year.

Will the owner of the truck be able to revoke permission to access the truck after it is granted?

Hmmmm, I just gave my wife access to my truck, does not appear to be an obvious way to revoke access via the app's might need to do a clean sweep from the truck. I kind of like that it's that way so neither party can strand the other without being in physical possession of the truck & a key fob.
