If that's the installed cost, it is surprisingly cost competitive with tesla for the kWh, especially when factoring in the vehicle integration in addition.

…And like Ford’s solution, the charger, electronic switching disconnect and related software are all brand-specific. I would like to say I’m surprised that GM did this instead of using standardized protocols. But I’m not…. It’s more like “Why build a system around the new standards when we’ve sunk a boatload of money into developing our own?”

I'll dig it up later. The international standard for V2G needs to be approved world wide before the chargers can be interoperable. The auto manufacturer don't want to be waiting years for an international engineering to come out when the V2H technology is needed now. It's a situation of "don't let perfect be the enemy of progress".

For $12,700, you get the full system with the charger, inverter, home hub computer, and the PowerBank...

3k more than the Ford offering, but comes with a 10.6kWh battery. Unclear if that's the installed cost.

Nice to see some competition. Wonder if the GM offering will work without flying teams of specialists to work on it.
My suggestion:

Do the numbers on dollars per kWh storage/deliverable to see how it compares with other products, like the Tesla power wall 3 for example ($7300 for 13.5kWh 11.5kW continuous output power - installation not included in price).

Then decide if you really need that or if a $400 Generac Transfer switch and your Ford Lightning is good enough. You already have a big battery in the truck (98kWh or 131kWh capacity) and a couple of inverters (if you have ProPower 9.6kW).

Then decide if it Is worth the big bucks.
If you have frequent power outages for long periods of time, or maybe can't spare the truck to power the house, perhaps it is worth the over $10k.
