Don't get me wrong, I have really enjoyed 1-pedal drive. This was clearly my fault and I'll surely be more cognizant of the location of my foot.
Putting it in to Park if you have to reach for something is a best practice - whether in 1 pedal drive or normal mode.

You see a lot of issues like this at the Rivian forum.

For those that complain about Ford Dealerships, go to the Rivian forum and find the topic on Service Centers. This is not joke. Many people trying to get service give up and sell the Rivian.

I do not know if Rivian is good to own. I don't care, but I did read the forum before I purchased my Lightning.

I say this as nicely as I can: I will not be pulled into a Rivian argument. Please find someone else for that.

Watched it, gave that guy a like. Crazy price aside, that was an incredible repair for that dent.

No, unfortunately, he's not.
Great video. I'm curious as to what that final repair bill looked like. I'm sure it was probably no more than 25% of the original quote.

Approx. 1 month of ownership and I rear ended someone. It was wet, my shoes were wet. I was behind another truck waiting for the lights and I decided to reach back and grab the tissue box on the back seat. As I reached back, my foot slipped and hit the accelerator pretty hard. Truck had no chance to warn me. In my ICE truck, my foot would be on the brake. With 1-Pedal drive, I am now used to just hovering my foot on the accelerator. Not an excuse by any means as it's totally my fault.

No injuries to either party, thankfully, just a massive blow to the ego.

Insurance is going to cover the repairs however the body shop told me that the parts are hard to come by and I will likely have to wait weeks, if not months. In the meantime, the truck is drivable. As you can see it's mostly cosmetic from what I can tell (no frame damage).

While I am still able to drive the truck, my ACC/pre-collision/Blue Cruise is no functional because the sensor is dangling by the harness. The sensor itself is fine. The bracket that holds it is busted. Does anyone have access to the shop manual and maybe able to share the diagram with the part # of the bracket? I would like to use ACC/Blue Cruise, if I can secure the sensor to the back bracket (the plastic pieces are busted so it won't snap in place).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe a little JB weld around the sensor to hold it in place. Hindsight of course but when I'm already stopped and need to reach into the back seat. Into PARK it goes.

Appreciate you bumping this from 2 years ago.

He's probably got the parts by now...

I didn't notice the date on his post since it only recently appeared in my email I assumed it was recent.
I wish the forum wouldn't send out ancient posts.
