Even in the Pro trim, this is the best truck I have ever owned or driven.
For the $45k price of my '22 Pro, that was same or lower price as an equiv. F150 ICE but with way more electronic bells and whistles plus all the advantages of being an EV.

My wife has caught on. Starting to use the Lightning for her local errands whenever its here instead of her Explorer. My plan to not need power adjustable seats with memory is being foiled by having to share the truck.

I think the nail is in the coffin for ICE. Political shenanigans might delay it, but the turning point has gotta be pretty damned close. I mean there are a couple limiting factors here... infrastructure and battery tech (range/charging speed) are going to be resolved in a few years.
I hope that you're correct.

What concerns me is the success which some corporations, cartels, and the politicians they've bought have had in the past with maintaining outdated standards. RCA with NTSC TV and Microbe-soft with their PC OS come to mind. Sometimes better technologies get "Betamaxed" for decades. Made-up marketing terms such as "range anxiety" scare people away with amazing efficacy.

The antidote, of course, is the truth. Kudos to all the forum members who tell friends, acquaintances, and random strangers about our actual experiences, take people for rides, etc. A few ultra-rich #%&*heads won't always defeat grassroots movements.

Answer for the OP: Yep, I'm spoiled (by the Lightning and Mach-E). However, battery tech is said to be improving pretty quickly, so who knows what will be coming down the road 5-10 years from now?

I used to see my neighbor tinkering with his ICE mower regularly. I gave him my battery operated one for a day and the next day he bought one. More and more people have neighbors with BEVS. Internet has a lot of pull but we still talk to real people from time to time.

The acceleration and power makes me a bit of an asshole sometimes, which is the only downside :D Best vehicle I have owned and favorite EV.
I blame it on the truck too. Once I had to make a quick lane change to make it to the left turn lane. In order to keep a safe distance with everyone, I had to get in front of an accelerating sport car. He quickly got behind me and followed me to the parking lot. I am thinking this is too much of a nice day to get my ass kicked in Home Depot’s parking lot. The guy comes out of his car, and I am watching every move he makes so I can respond accordingly. He walks up to me and say; “dude, what you got under that hood? Where can I get one of these?” I opened the Frunk to show him what was under the hood. I spent the next twenty minutes answering questions. I am sure his next car will be an EV.

My wife has not driven the lightning. She simply has no desire to drive it. Get her a different EV and then you may be able to have exclusive use of your lightning. I don't get to drive our (her) Volvo xc40 EV very often anymore.

My wife says EV’s have spoiled her.
Given the choice between driving our Tesla and the Lightning Flash , I choose the Lightning EVERY TIME.
Wifey loves it too.
It’s smoother, quieter and far more refined.
Tesla tech is perfectly seemless, like an iPhone, but there is nothing I really miss when driving the Lightning.
Never owned a FORD before, and I’m thoroughly impressed with this electric truck !
It’s funny, EV’s SUPPOSEDLY have all the compromises, yet we’ve put the most miles on our EV’s, in the shortest time frame, than any previous car !
Never going back because every time I drive an ICE car I can’t stand how crude it is.

I don’t know about you other Lightning owners, but I am concerned that after owning and experiencing the F-150 Lightning, twice, I will never be happy with an ICE vehicle, or ANY other F-150 or other truck… again.

The smooth ride, quiet ride, asinine acceleration, one-pedal, regenerative braking, the FRUNK, no real interval maintenance before 100k, reduced brake wear, excellent weight distribution and balance, winter handling and traction, excellent headlights, quick cab warming in the winter, and did I say FRUNK?

Yes, I have a few gripes, mostly related to over-the-air updates and FordPass, but out of the box, both Lightnings have been better quality but 200% over ANY of the four ICE F-150’s I’ve owned in the last six years. Plus, the Lightning is relatively simple. Two electric motors and a battery.

Anyone else feel the same way?
Well, you do have to rotate your tires every 10,000 miles and change the cabin air filter-😂🤣😂
Oh yeah, no way I’m going back. They will have to pry it from my warm(Heated steering wheel and seats) dead hands!

If solid state batteries ever happen, it’s over for ICE.

Yes, I feel the same way. Of the long list of benefits you listed, the only one that I don't use is the One Pedal. I've tried it a few times and I just don't like it. But I don't have to use it, so that's great. It's not forced on me. You put up a great list of reasons why the Lightning is the best. Oh, and by the way, did I mention the Frunk? LOVE it.

So Ford is a car company that builds good vehicles and they just need a good software company to become excellent ... makes sense. Of course my pet peeve is the lack of privacy with the software which ain't gonna change any time soon. As long as the truck runs well and stays reasonably reliable, I'm satisfified with the shortcomings and my decision to not "share" (read: have no choice or control over the data they hoover up) with Ford.

I've actually grow to like One Pedal, it's great for "hand to hand" combat in that it really improves reaction time ... I live Massachusetts so read "it's make it easier to deal with Massholes"

It’s my fourth EV. Not going back to ICE ever. And it’s also by far the best EV I’ve had.
BMW i3>model s performance > model x plaid.
Actually liked my i3 the second most. But nothing is close to the lightning.

First, great thread here from someone that DOES NOT yet own a Lighting. Great to read and see the love for this vehicle.

I am curious of this group of Lightning evangelists, how many of you went with the 9.6kw pro pack? I am looking at a Flash lease and am trying to decide whether this is a feature I would use. Our house literally never looses power (lucky) so I don't envision ever having a need to use it for V2L.

@Jamchampnate, would you mind sharing your set up here? Curious about the tent, toneau cover and racks as I envision setting my future Lighting up similarly.

I agree. I loved my 06' Taco 4x4, it was luxury compared to my 96' Ranger XLT. When the Lightning came out, I told myself, I'm gonna get one of those! I planed on Keeping the Taco and trading in the Ranger until the Taco got totaled. So now its my Rolls Royce Lightning and my OLD ICE Ranger. I do enjoy driving the ranger though as it has a small wheelbase and the 4speed/overdrive. It does scoot for a 4banger.
