Anyone else get annoyed when the OP of a thread is active for a few hours and then never comes back? Meanwhile the rest of us are answering questions (and in this thread) posting wrong info, etc.

I suggest we let this thread die until and unless the OP ever comes back.

He's made the original post and 7 replies to our probing Q&A's, but too many tangent's spoil the broth.

I'm curious what he finds with a subsequent charging session, trying to achieve 100% SOC is always going to take extra time, the last 5% is very slow on purpose, it's controlled by the truck.

Yes, but he hasn't answered the important question - what version of Tesla Wall Connector does he have? Seems that some V1s have trouble charging at 80A with J1772 adapters (there are two different V1 Tesla Wall Connectors), while V2 Wall Connectors can do it (and of course, the current V3 have a limit of 48A even with Teslas). It would be interesting to nail down why some V1s cant do 80A charging with J1772 adapters while others can. It probably has to do with the model revs. Seems that A&B model revs have more charging options (like they can do 72A charging) than models C&D (which can only do 60A or 80A charging).

Which ones work with 80A J1772 charging is anyone's guess right now.

I read it again and while he hasn’t confirmed, I’m pretty sure @MrPharmer2012 has a Gen 1.

One other thing I realized today, if he’s calculating backwards from the app, it’s not going to be accurate. This is assuming the android functions the same way.

On mine, I get 16-17kW even at 92-93% SOC.

Last night I finished charging somewhere between 1-2am, only needed about 42kWh. I actively charged for less than 3 hours to get to my limit, but it remained on the charger until I left this morning. Yet my app shows I’ve been “charging” for over 10 hours, while simultaneously saying charging is complete.

I don’t think I ever realized it, but that means the app considers it still “charging” as long as it stays plugged in. I wonder if that is what the OP is experiencing. Everything is working as intended, it’s the assumption that’s wrong.

The FCSP is more precise about when the vehicle is charging.
It separates the charging time from the plugged in time.
I known nothing about other EVSE & App's

Oh you're right. If I go into my charge log, it'll show that same thing with the Tesla Wall Charger as well - along with various other L2s. Distinctly separating the amount of actual charging time and the time it was unplugged.

I usually just click the details button in the blue section on the Home Screen, and it'll only show "Time on Charger" instead of "Total Charge Time". Odd that they do it differently on two different screens.

The Hampton Inn in Sheridan, WY has two Gen 1 Tesla wall chargers. They are on 100a breakers and set to charge at 80 amps. I had no luck getting my Lariat ER to charge using my Tesla Tap mini 80a.
