Not sure if it is too late or not but I purchased this one on Amazon and it’s ben fantastic:

Monzaryan Tesla to J1772 Adapter, Max 80Amp, 250V AC - J1772 EVs Charging Adapter, Fit with Tesla Destination Charger, Mobile Connector, Wall Connector, with Built-in Lock, 4 Keys, Carrying Case https://a.co/d/9dpCHhY

I really liked that it had an integrated lock that helps prevent theft and it also is slim and compact and comes in a nice case - plus is supports 80 amps!
I have this one that looks exactly like yours. It’s $59 and works GREAT. I bought 3 of them. One to keep in the truck and one at our cabin charger and one at the house charger. I have Tesla wall chargers at both homes since I also have 2 Teslas.

Tesla HPWCs are now at least on Generation 3. Gen 1 units don’t have the top shaped so a cord can be coiled and hung there. I believe they also aren’t shaped so the business end can be stored on the side. Gen 2 units can be set for 80 amps but because of the lack of need for speed for overnight users and because the 80 amp setting requires heavy wiring (2 or 4 gauge I believe) I suspect you will find most of these are set for 48 amps or less. I believe Gen 3 Units max out at 40 or 48 amps. Gen 3 units are easier to connect to wiring but Gen 2 units are quite desirable. They turn up on ebay. Before we got our Ford unit installed, our Tesla had to share its wall charger set at 60 amps (providing 48 amps max.) with our Lightning.

Hi all,

We’re about to take a trip in our ER Lightning Lariat and there are some Tesla destination chargers in the area around our hotel.

I am looking to buy an adapter but would be worried to buy a 48 amp version because the Lightning can pull 80 amps, I believe.

Lectron doesn’t sell an 80 amp version but this company does on Amazon. Any experience with them? Price too good to be true?

Thanks
Just be aware, Fakespot gives the reviews on this product a 'D' implying the reviews are likely mostly fake. Once the fakes have been removed the product is 1-star.

I thought the lightning wouldn't pull 80 amps unless it was connected with a CCS connection, which is why the Power Station Pro uses a CCS and not a J1772?

If this is the case, then you wouldn't need an 80 amp NACS to J1772 adapter but a NACS to CCS adapter to pull 80 amps from the rare 80 amp Tesla Destination/Wall Charger.

No, that is not correct. Charge Station Pro uses the bottom pins for the sending of power BACK to the house.

Interesting, I wonder if that means it's junk or just a lot of the reviews are fake/padded. I spoke to another member of this forum and they had a good experience with this connector, so hopefully it'll be ok.

I bought the TeslaTap 80amp adapter to use with my ER while traveling. From what I understand the 80 amp Tesla wall connectors are rare but they do exist. I didn’t want to risk melting a 48 amp adapter in case I was actually using one of the older 80 amp wall connectors out there.

Spending more money for a well-known adapter brand with a higher amperage rating was worth the peace of mind, IMO.
This is what I did as well, but I have yet to find an 80amp Tesla connection.

Chances are it'll be fine, especially with other people using it already. I do, however, trust TeslaTap a lot more as a long term brand that's been doing this without complaints for a long time. Their 80a adapter has worked well for me, though I don't think I've had it up to 80a yet.

I use an 80amp TeslaTap attached to my 80amp Tesla Gen 2 wall charger to 80amp charging at home. It works great. I sold my ford charge station pro because once everything converts to NACS, there probably won't be an adapter for CCS to NACS level 2 AC charging.

Never knew about that fake spotter thing, I'm the one with it, so far so good for 6 uses. Not in a high demand capacity need, just to grab a top off opportunity. The chargers have all been pretty slow, way under 48 amps.
