Got my 2024 Flash in the beginning of November. This is my 8th EV, but first Ford EV. Enjoying the truck and patiently waiting for Blue Cruise 1.4, hoping it does better on curves as advertised.

Welcome to the forum and to the Lightning. It is a good truck, and I likely don't give it enough credit. However, if any of those 7 previous EV'S were a Tesla or Rivian, etc. you might want to start to lower your expectations of the Lightnings SW and battery technology now. Plenty of reading here on the forum.

BMW, GM and VW, so far have had 4 OTA updates on the lighting in a month, so maybe they are getting better. The VW was terrible, so it has to be better than that. I’ve been reading up on the issues and it seems a lot of them have been resolved on the 24. Fingers crossed they have most of the bugs worked out. I had a 2022 Lightning Lariat that I ordered come in, but I backed out. $90K at the time seemed like too much.

I like your attitude. Momma always told me ‘Live in Hope or Die in Despair.’

Welcome aboard.

Hello, I'm new here, you can call me Mij but that's not my real name. Just got a 2024 Lightning XLT Standard battery and loving it so far. This is our 2nd EV, the first one being our 2023 Mach-E Premium AWD.

Made the deal through a broker on a 2 year lease. Dealer was 4 hours away and we hemmed and hawed about taking a trip down there to get it. Finally decided to pay the $375 for delivery. My Lightning got delivered off the transport with 33 miles at 5:15 PM on Christmas Eve. Popped the frunk and put the gifts in and headed to the in-laws.

Been charging on 120v/L1 so far and it's been fine, I don't drive a lot. Took about 60 hours to go from 23 to 90 percent as per the recommended charging limit. We do have an L2 in the garage for our Mach-E and if I really need it, I will pull the truck in the garage to charge, although I don't think it will fit all the way in. I also have cheap L2 charging available in my parking garage at work, it's at the prevailing utility rate around 10 cents per KWH.

Greetings from another white short-range XLT and Mach-E owner. I wish we had electric rates like yours, though! Hope you're as happy with your thunder buggy as I have been with mine (quite happy so far).

You may see a chorus of forum members recommending L2 charging for the truck at nearly any cost, and I'm not going to argue with that. I use a cheapo 16 amp cable (with an extension cord, no less) from a dryer socket in my garage with great success.

Congratulations, however you charge it. But...10 cents?!?!
