I got an invite email from Ford to join Test Flight (Apple). This was during a recruitment period October 2023. I guess they have enough testers at this point?

Release notes also say Trailer Light check is also back but I already see that on my non-beta device. Slightly different location than my beta device.

I have a big problem with the connected services being put in a priority location on the device. This is more for an upsell on Ford's side. I have no issue with it in general, but do not make it prominant where the other functions are pushed below the fold on the page.

I wonder if this version will include the Apple Watch updates to lock/unlock the vehicle using it...that'd be nice.

Watch has EV%, Range, lock, unlock, start climate, location, horn/lights
But I think these were already there.

Looks great, is that the only size widget they offer? Also, any idea how these work for us that have multiple cars (Lightning and MME). I don't want to guess which control center action is which lol.

Lastly, for iOS, do we have dark mode yet?! Android has had it for a while now.

That’s awesome. That looks more snd more what the Apple Watch has already though. The watch app has come a long ways and Ford keeps making it better. Thanks OP for the info.

I’m not sure what you are asking. The Ford Pass Apple Watch App already includes lock/unlock capability.

Righto, I'm looking for NFC lock/unlock capability like the deadbolt I have on my front door...not accessing the app, just tap and go.

Having separated lock and unlock icons make no sense because it doesn't communicate the state of the doors - either being locked or unlocked. As a non-UI designer this makes sense so I don't understand the oversight by Ford here.

FWIW after I installed the update and set the widget and control center shortcuts up, the app used a ton of battery in the background. I removed the widgets/shortcuts and it stopped using the battery.

Just checked battery history. FordPass 2 % over last 24 hours. So no. Don’t thinking I am seeing more battery usage.

FYI - I am on the EAP Beta program. They just pushed 5.8.0 and it includes the control center lock/unlock that was showcased at recent Ford event.

The lock / unlock works. Seems quick
The widget shows charge status, range and %.

I'll add some screen shots.... I'm sure this violates my beta agreement. Ford - look the other way

Update 11/8 - When truck is on widget shows "running", when not on and not charging show "parked"

This is confidential information and ruins it for the rest of us when you guys post stuff like this. We have embargo restrictions we need to abide by. They will shut this down if people keep doing this. And you’ll be removed. No fun for anybody then.
