You can always put in the vehicle credit just to see and then delete it.So I could plug in info as if I bought my truck last year to see a general impact on my return next year, right? im always nervous I’m gonna screw this up for next tax year when it counts.
Is that right? Sounds to me like he might be saying the $7500 took his liability down to ~$0 and therefore was ineligible for 30% of the EVSE.It's the AMT (Alternative Minimum Tax) kicking in.
Possibly, part 3 of form 8911 is where such a computation occurs even if AMT is not the reason. Is that right? Sounds to me like he might be saying the $7500 took his liability down to ~$0 and therefore was ineligible for 30% of the EVSE.
You file it on their website or downloaded software? I checked also this morning and it still show “ready soon” after searching for update.I forgot to check on the 9th lol
I finalized and sent my e file this morning it went through with both the ev and charger credits
Lowest tax rate I have ever had LOL.

The $7500 does come into play but that EVSE credit uses AMT and what or calls a tentative minimum tax calculation to determine if you payed enough taxes. My wife and I have enough tax liability for sure for both the vehicle and EVSE but it was a no go. But filing separately worked to get both and it helped for other reasons so that’s what we did.Is that right? It was the AMT — but without the 7500 credit I wouldn’t have been bumped into AMT territory so would have gotten credit for their EVSE.Is that right? Sounds to me like he might be saying the $7500 took his liability down to ~$0 and therefore was ineligible for 30% of the EVSE
Just got an update, and it appears it would let me file (I'm not ready to, and have some "errors").No Windows TT update for correct form so far today.
What form is there for CA?I'm using TurboTax for Windows (not online) and was able to file both Fed and state (Cali) just now.
Just e-filed. Finally.I'm using TurboTax for Windows (not online) and was able to file both Fed and state (Cali) just now.
I'm referring to filing my completed state income tax return with TT. There is no "tax-affiliated" Cali credit for EV's.What form is there for CA?
