I will say I am not happy with Sunrun so far. 11 days since I got my truck and they haven't even shipped out my FCSP unit yet. I need to call to reschedule my electrician, but need to know when I am getting the unit to know when to reschedule them!

Thankfully we already have 1 L2 EVSE at home and the wife and I can share, but this would really suck if I was a first time EV buyer. Congrats, here is your truck. It is going to be a real pain to use for the first month because the company we partnered with for home charging sucks!

Would have been so much better if Ford just forgot about the FSCP, or just offered it as an option, and we could have bought and had our own EVSE installed well in advance of getting the truck.

FWIW, back in August, mine didn’t ship for 14 days after I took delivery of my truck and 2 days to deliver via FedEx…..

Well the 2 days gives me hope. Sunrun agent said 10 days for shipping.

Nope. My first notification was via my FedEx account of an incoming shipment from AZ….then, it arrived 3 days earlier than FedEx’s initial estimate……🙃

I never had any communication from SunRun or Ford about the shipment. I never got an address verification email….I finally took the initiative using a link to SunRun posted on this forum to verify my shipping address a week after my truck shipped/prior to its delivery.

I never had any communication from SunRun or Ford about the shipment. I never got an address verification email….I finally took the initiative using a link to SunRun posted on this forum to verify my shipping address a week after my truck shipped/prior to its delivery.
Still no shipping notification so I called Sunrun again this morning. Apparently the FSCPs are now backordered (again). They are going to contact me in 2 days with an updated ETA. GAH! I really wish I wasn't getting this thing!

Yeah, I understand….If it’s any solace, after I installed and connected (WiFi/FordPass) mine……, and gave it ~5 days to auto-update to the latest (at the time) firmware, it has performed flawlessly.

I find mine delivers ~16.67 KWh @ ~234V/~71A up to ~90% SoC on a 240V/100A circuit with the unit set at 80A. It makes for pretty fast L2 charge sessions

Yeah, I understand….If it’s any solace, after I installed and connected (WiFi/FordPass) mine……, and gave it ~5 days to auto-update to the latest (at the time) firmware, it has performed flawlessly.

I find mine delivers ~16.67 KWh @ ~234V/~71A up to ~90% SoC on a 240V/100A circuit with the unit set at 80A. It makes for pretty fast L2 charge sessions

I am only going to be running mine at 48A and will likely never set up the smart features. Only using it because it comes with the truck. Would rather have another 40A Grizzl-e.
I get it…I too only installed it since it was included…otherwise, I would have chosen something else. Given that , it does the job. BTW, I didnt connect it for the “smart“ features…I just wanted to make sure I had access to the firmware updates….. I just want it to charge my truck😁

You know Sunruns incompetence as a company never ceases to amaze me. After failed attempts at getting them to quote or install FCSP and/or HIS and cancelled, painful long process to order HIS with missing components from Sunruns AEExpress direct, and now 3 weeks after delivery and no FCSP charger delivered from Sunrun.

So after four calls and broken promises that it would be shipped "soon" they are escalating to their "leadership." And it will take two business days to get a response so we are talking next Wednesday. I ask how they will respond and they are not sure. My dealer said that he has other lightning customers that are now 1-2+ months without any charger from Sunrun. Called Ford being transferred from CS to parts and finally to Ford lightning marketing to see if they could shed some light and their marketing group said it's the dealers responsibility to send paperwork directly to sunrun and it's the dealers screwing up the process. Told the dealer and they laughed, they have no contact with sunrun they said, it's Fords system.

Love the Lightning so far but Ford/Sunrun deal is a disaster. How does this company stay in business?

Yup - feeling about the same. They promised me an update by today, but given it is already 3pm I am not holding my breath.

My Sunrun experience has been similar. Early in 2022 reached out to get pricing on solar and package install of FCSP and HIS since the saleperson said that was included in the pricing for my system. Had it designed, was in for permit, approaching install month, and I emailed to confirm what was getting installed because I hadn't gotten to order Lightning yet and was curious how they would install solar and if they would come back out to install HIS and FCSP. They then said that wasn't included and I would need to pay for a separate install. I said, okay, how much will that cost because I'm still getting the gear. Sunrun then says, no, the HIS isn't included, so I asked them for the recorded conversations with the salesperson to verify that I clearly asked and was answered that it was all part of my proposal. Spent the next several weeks with various people trying to get answers or at least a cost if it wasn't included. They eventually sent me a notice that my solar order had been cancelled and a $100 gift card.

A few months ago I reached out again when it was immenient to get to place my order. They said "Oh, great. Now we can get you setup with our special Ford team here at Sunrun", but came back a week later and said, sorry, you need an order, not just a reservation to get a quote. Placed my order and circled up. Sorry, you need a VIN before we can do that. Now that I have a VIN I followed up yesterday and they are looking into it.

The only reason I'm still talking to Sunrun is that I have some hope that since they're already onsite doing the solar I theoretically should get a reasonable price to install the HIS as well. That will probably end up not being true, but I'm committed to at least getting a quote.

So the electrical inspector finally showed up 3 days late, stating their system failed to register the request from my electrical contractor. The good news is the inspector reviewed the installation and approved everything, including the circuit breaker lock that was installed in my panel by the Sunrun electrician. I am good to go - all I need is a truck! (Which is supposed to arrive between Oct 26th and Nov 1st.)

As asked above, in my jurisdiction the inspector did NOT require a line-of-sight disconnect for the charger. The circuit breaker lock device was satisfactory. I am happy about this in place of a disconnect, because that is just another set of connections that could fail, overheat and possibly cause a fire. I was always taught that the fewer connections, the better!

Well as of today Sunrun said my status was listed as "Delivery cancelled" and they have no idea why. Promised a call back at the end of the day but never did (surprise surprise). Will call again tomorrow and see what the new excuse / lie is.

If they want to keep the FSCP that is fine by me, just send me a check!
