Kudo's to Jim Farley for inking the deal allowing us to use Tesla's chargers. I live in Hot Springs AR and have family in Houston. It's a 7 hour (no stop) drive. Prior to getting my adaptor I couldn't get there in a day. There were zero fast chargers on US-59. so wee would take my wife's ICE car. Last weekend we were able to make the trip with my adaptor and had 5 Tesla chargers available. Easy peasy. and charging with Tesla couldn't be easier. Plug in and your charging within seconds. No squinting at a screen in the sunlight. No loading an app on your phone. No charger error messages, just plug and go. The way it should be. Tesla has done it right and it's no wonder why they've been succsseful.

The government is paying Tesla to open up access. Farley or not, we would eventually have had access. What I do appreciate is Farley being first in line and saying, yes, we will adapt the NACS standard ASAP. That's what made us the first manufacturer with SC access.

Sources? there has been little to no evidence I have seen that a traditional NACS v3 supercharger is in anyway funded by Govt because they opened them up to 3rd party auto manufacturers like Ford. I’m aware Magic docks may be, but that is infinitesimal compared to traditional v3 nacs superchargers

Let's hope Muskrat doesn't throw a temper tantrum and renege on the contracts. I have seen zero evidence of any V3 or V4 supercharger build out on the freeway routes we take.

" Today, companies including Tesla, General Motors, EVgo, Pilot, Hertz and bp, among others, are announcing new commitments to expand their networks by thousands of public charging ports in the next two years, using private funds to complement federal dollars and putting the nation’s EV charging goals even closer within reach."

That article relates to the NEVI funding (from the Biden Infrastructure bill). In Texas for example, Tesla won 9 of the 56 sites in 2023. They have started construction on two. None are open.

In the meantime, the Farley-Musk NACS agreement opened dozens of existing V3 sites in Texas to us.

You did not read my post or you are misinformed. NEVI has nothing to
Do with existing access to v3 NACS accessible superchargers. .. but if you want to get into the anti Musk/Tesla political weeds I can provide you the per site install subsidy cost numbers for the coming NEVI compliant (magic docks) chargers being installed in Wisconsin and They are dramatically less cost to the taxpayer per install compared to other brand chargers . Is that bad? Or do you like having all your money taken for inefficient government waste?

1st) to my previous statement. The existing opening of NACS to Ford or anyone has not been shown to be subsidized in any way shape or form

2nd) Look at the data (at least in my state) per NEVI install.. if there is one company I would want to freaking subsidize based on their efficiency of taxpayers $$$$ for install it would be Tesla!
